They even refunded the difference when the cost had gone up a couple dollars when I ordered a new one. It is a very soft material. It’s summer and I’ve nursed a few times with it outside or in the car, and the baby hasn’t gotten nearly as hot as she did with our expensive Bebe au Lait cover! I don’t pull it all the way over us in the heat but probably would in the winter. I use it to fully cover when she latches then pull it up a bit on the sides to let more air in. But even over her head she doesn’t seem hot. Definitely worth the price I think! Even if it doesn’t hold up super long, you could replace it for less than the cost of a more expensive one!
