Hakko 599-029 Cleaning Wire for 599B Tip Cleaner, 5 Pack

> 24 hourIm a hobbyist who frequently has to do a bit of soldering electrical connections and such. I bought a Hakko soldering station years ago. I also bought a Hakko metal sponge style tip cleaner. It works much better than a wet sponge for my purposes (it might be one day or one month between soldering sessions--and the wet sponge always dries out). But ultimately the metal sponge will fill up with solder scraps, and you need to replace it with a new one. My local big box style electronics store is going under--and when I visited it a week or so before I ordered these sponges, they did not have Hakko sponges (or much of anything else) in stock. So I go to Amazon Prime and see a deal! 5 Hakko sponges in a pack for not much money. Now I actually have two of the Hakko plastic holders for the metal sponge, because I filled up one sponge and couldnt find a replacement sponge--had to buy the holder and the sponge. Anyway 5 Hakko metal tip cleaning sponges should last me at least a couple of years. And I know where to go back and get them again.

> 24 hourThese are so much better than the cheap generic cleaning wire packs. Well worth the added cost IMO.

> 24 hourI have a metal holder for my cleaners...these balls are small, so I need two to fill the holder. that ends up a little too much...but just a single barely fills to the opening on the holder. It would work great in just a flat cup.

> 24 hourI originally bought a Hakko soldering iron stand which came with a container and two 599-029 tip cleaning wires. The last two times Ive ordered 599-029 the cleaning wires are half the size of the original. I solder stained glass so I use these tip cleaners every day. Now I have to put two of these tip cleaners into the container that holds them otherwise my soldering iron goes right through them without really cleaning the tip. Really disappointing. Can you please ask Hakko to go back to producing the original tip cleaning wire size? Thank you...........Carol
