> 3 dayI have been using hakko for 20 years. After use of some cheap soldering station, I finally realize hakko had good workmanship and good reliability.

Greater than one weeki love it, upgraded from a hakko fx888d and this heats up so quickly and it keeps temps consistent. fixing iphone motherboards is a lot easier now.

> 3 dayAbsolutely a game changer for me! I have been working with my Aoyue station for years, and I thought that was great, but it started wild temp fluctuations lately. Im soldering with the Hakko at 50 Fahrenheit less! And the performance is second to none!

> 3 dayI am completely new to soldering and I am glad I spent the money to get this. The features on this are well worth it, and for a beginner like me, it is great to have most of what I would need all in one package. It feels sturdy and high quality and it has options for different attachments in case I want to try other things. I actually looked at a video on youtube that listed some of the features and it had things I didnt know I wanted or needed-- like the sleep mode that keeps your tips cool while it is resting on the holder so that tips can last longer. I didnt exactly know what the little heat resistant pad was for either-- but it turns out you can hot swap the tips with it.

> 3 dayUpdated 6-28-2022 ... Now it works very very good! I FINALLY was able to get ahold of someone that could talk me through my problems (in May 2021), which was a few days after my original review. The problem was the soldering tips werent pushed in all the way. I was pushing them in by hand and would feel a gentle click as though it was solid and in place. As explained to me by the help desk, the tip needed to be pushed in even further! To get the tip in all of the way I had to leverage my body weight against the soldering pen and my work bench then push even harder to finally feel a second click. Now the tip is inserted all of the way and the soldering station works like a champ. A smaller second issue was adjusting the temperature. Its not so intuitive and theres a maximum temperature of, 840(?) I forget for sure the max temp but if you try to program above that temperature it becomes confusing as how to adjust temperature. Anyway, after that learning curve, those two issues, I now LOVE the soldering station. Gets to max temperature in like 5 seconds and works beautifully. This is my frustrated review from May-ish 2021 .... Bought it for school well in advance because I read this brand was the best. Constant e5 error. Unusable. Hakko stole over $300 from me. Garbage. I now read all the complaints of this e5 error. Hakko ruined my day in class and now Im way behind everyone else.
