Hakko T18-B Conical Soldering Tip

> 3 dayI took a gamble on this hoping it would fit in my Aoyue 469 soldering iron. Turns out it did, and it seems to be at least as good as the original tip (probably better). So, if you have an Aoyue 469 and need a new tip, this is a good option. Thats assuming you can even remove your old tip. Mine was practically welded in place, and I had to use a hammer to get it out.

> 3 dayI bought a relatively inexpensive soldering station that came with multiple tips. Supposedly they were pre tinned, but I’m having trouble getting solder to flow. I thought maybe a better quality tip might solve the problem. The tip seems to be well tinned, but I’m still having trouble. Probably my soldering skills need attention.

> 3 dayAs with all Hakko products this performs flawlessly. The tip is high quality and will probably last a near lifetime in service. Works on the FX-888D digital iron without an issues at all. I highly recommend any Hakko product, theyve performed flawlessly on my bench for years with nary a problem.

> 3 dayThis tip is excellent for through-hole components. It performs well with medium and large surface mount parts too. I use it on my FX-888.

Greater than one weekThis is the perfect size pcb level electrical work. For me, anyway. Most people would probably prefer something a little finer for SOIC/QFP, but I use this for everything. Buy it. Use it. It good. This fits the Hakko FX soldering irons.

> 3 dayI purchased a $30 iron from Electronic Specialists and after a year of heavy use, I found my tip had oxidized too much to where it wouldnt heat properly. I searched around for another one and found this one on Amazon and decided to give it a try as I wasnt exactly sure if it was the tip that was causing my problems. I got this new one in, installed, and fired it up and it was working just like before. It was an easy replacement and the price was good too. Its a little larger tip than my previous, which I was a bit bummed about, but it works just fine and is just as described.

> 3 dayIve always been a Weller guy when it came to soldering irons, but after I got sick of fighting with my last iron while using lead free solder I decided to give the Hakko FX600 a shot. I really loved the iron, and I decided the other day to order a replacement tip just to have an extra. Although this iron isnt listed on the compatibility list for this tip, it ships with this exact T18-B tip already in place and this one fits it perfectly as well. So if youre looking for a new tip for youre FX600, these will work just fine.

> 3 dayThis soldering tip is good for general purpose SMT soldering. I was able to solder 0402 sized components and also get heat into connections that had large heat sinks (ground connections on PCB). I had also gotten a T18-S4 tip, but this works much better for most uses. Definitely recommend this genuine Hakko tip over the garbage aftermarket tips.
