I bought this as a gift for my geeky husband who loves steampunk and he LOVES it. Craftsmanship is amazing - its extremely well made.

This was a really cool thumb drive but... This was totally my fault, but I had forgotten to take them out of my jeans and left them in the wash, when I came back it was all smashed up! Broken glass and pieces everywhere. LEDs still function though. I didnt even consider the glass casing around the tube, I can imagine dropping it on the ground would break it as well. Anyway, just wanted to warn/remind people to treat this as an actual vacuum tube and not a thumb drive.

Excellent USB 2 key simulating a Pentode vacuum tube. Very well designed, pleasant look, and seems rock solid. Light (not flashing) when connected to a compter. It is delivered with a software to protect data. A bit heavy compared to other similar keys, probably due to the use of metal. Work very well and does not get warm (I copied 50 GB). I am positively surprised. Performances according to Parkdale for file transfert of 1 MB (blok of 1 MB) : - writing rate : 4.6 MBytes/sec, down to 2.8 MBytes/sec after 3 minutes or even less. - reading rate : 13-29 MBytes/sec, average near 30 MBytes/sec It is not a record but un the market average. Again ? Yes, small is beautiful !

I saw these last year, but didnt get them ordered in time for Christmas. This year, I did. I ordered two: one for my father and one for my brother. Both are tech guys. They LOVED them.

Nice drive with a great steampunk look. Performance is a bit slow but it gets the job done.

I bought the 16gb version. Its very, very cool. The build quality is great and its geek chic factor is off the charts. Do yourself a favor and buy the biggest one you can afford as youll want to use it for everything.

For an old geek like me, having replaced tubes a few decades ago in our family TV, this is nifty. Couple of things: This is round, not flat, so if you have a group of stacked USB ports, this will use one and block the adjacent one(s). Also, this is shipped registered mail, so if your USPS office is incompetent like mine, you may have a challenge while they try to find the package. The packaging is well done and it made the trip across the pond in good shape. Came with a nice wooden cradle suitable for desk jewelry.

I plugged it in and didn’t have to wait for it to warm up! :) i haven’t worked on tube circuits in years and I bought it cause I thought it looked cool. Oh and it worked just fine with my PC.
