For the price, I couldnt pass this up. you never know when you are going to need extra wire on hand, so this was a no brainer investment. The wire cutters that are included dont seem to be a cheap pair, so they went into the tool bag to try out. The wire itself is good quality wire.

I built a tension fence and used 1/8 steel cable, it turned out great, it is very strong, doesnt stretch, and easy to work with. I decided to build more fencing now, seeing how nice this one turned out so nice.

This is nice, heavy duty wire that we will be using at the back of our property to string some outdoor lights onto. It’s great that it will not rust and is stronger so that we don’t have to keep redoing it. This is a very manageable thickness. Perfect for our needs!

This 1/8-inch cable is tightly wound so that it doesnt unravel much at all when I cut it--a real plus when youre swaging fittings and the ferrule tolerances are tight. A very good option for internal or external uses.

This is perfect if youre setting up string lights in a yard or big outdoor space, or for doing wire rope railings, or for just about anything else youd like to tie up with a 1000 foot spool of stainless steel rope!

Its great they supply a cutter tool with the 656 foot and 984 foot spools. But there is no stop on how far you can open the handles, and its really easy for the spring to pop out (and it may spring away, making difficult to find, lol) If the spring does take off on you, a magnet may help you in your search. The wire rope arrives on a really nice and stout, long lasting spool, which is really helpful not just for storage, but for long runs and repeated runs (like five runs for a long railing). This is a kind of special type of Stainless Steel, with a high iron content (ferritic stainless steel), and that iron is not in a metallurgical state called austinite. 304 & 316 SS are austinitic, but austenite can be converted to martensite or ferrite, which are both magnetic by high temperatures (like welding) or cold working and extremely low temperatures, resulting in stainless steel that IS MAGNETIC. The key point is that wire rope can be used for a lot of different purposes, and if you buy this because SS is not magnetic, be fore warned. It being magnetic is not the type of thing most sellers would note in an ad. The wire has a stiffness quality that is significant and one of the first things you will notice. That helps with the wire wanting to straighten itself. Even if you get a kink with a bend that is as tight as a one inch radius, the wire will straiten out within seconds. Go tighter than one inch, and it will form a bend. I dont know if the ad was clear, but this is UNCOATED wire rope (NOT vinyl coated). Note it measures slightly UNDER 1/8 inch because it appears to be 3 mm thick in diameter (0.118 inches in diameter). Keep that in mind if you double that up for a thimble and wire rope clip (such as for stringing lights). If you do intend to use this wire rope with those U-bolt looking clips with the saddle and two nuts, watch what kind of saddle a particular manufacturer supplies. I have some clips here that I purchased for different, vinyl coated wire rope. One is metric, the other US manufactured. The metric one does not fit this un-coated wire rope (made for the thicker vinyl coating over 3 mm wire). But the US version of similar size fits both!! This is because of the shape of the saddle is more of a V form and not rounded like the metric designs are. So I would put a little more thought into buying clips for this wire rope than just the given size. That V design in the saddle makes ANY size more secure, where with metric clips, you are explicitly told they are not reliable and to use crimp on clips in addition to the bolt on clips. Just a word of caution, lol. All told, this is great wire rope, at a terrific price, but be sure you realize it is metric and not S.A.E. American units. Thinking it is 1/8 inch may not get you into trouble, but then again, be ready for lifes little surprises due to engineered designs and fits! Who would think about the saddle on a wire rope clip? I did, lol.

This is a very heavy cable for its size. Doesnt comes with the connectors, but you get a lot of cable on this roll. I have a lot left over from my project of holding the shade cloth in place in my greenhouse. Would buy this again if this roll ever runs out.

I did not expect the wire rope to be so heavy but that is a good thing. Always good to have some heavy-duty items around the house and in the car because you just never know when something will happen and you need it. That is the reason this item was ordered. It looks great and, as stated, is very heavy. I am pleased that it came on a spool that can be placed on a steel rod or wooden dowel to pull off a length, or re-wound, if need be. Excellent value for peace of mind!

Feels hefty! Used for a cable railing project and it worked the way it should. Project came out great. Swages held onto this cable no problem. No bends or kinks, just pure cable.

This is a great size cable for use while still being flexible. Got it to secure through my fencing on my chicken runs. Easy to deal with while still having plenty of strength. Probably overkill but should out last me and Ill never have to worry about it again.
