> 24 hourTo be perfectly honest... AMAZON royally screwed me over. I bought 143 Hard Drives, all bought from Amazon and all shipped by Amazon. 35 Hard Drives, primarily WD Blacks WDE1002FAEX failed for whatever reasons. WD said that the drives were not shipped by them to anyone in this country and appeared to have been removed from a working PC or imported from Asia, where they were bought for really low prices. Amazon was going to replace the drives, but they realized that no receipt has precisely the actual hard drives serial number. They can say whatever they want but Amazon bytes it in integrity. I spent over $20,000 buying supposedly the best Hard Drives with a 5 year warranty. The Blacks and the RE4. Having lost 85 Seagate 7200.11 ST3500320AS 500GB Hard Drives and having to spend $20 to ship each drive back using Advance Replacement and then experiencing the joy of watching 78 Refurbished Seagate Hard Drives all fail within 2 weeks. F these big box outfits. Amazon has pulled some other big ones as well. They wiped out 13 years of records and receipts because a customer of mine, called Amazon and said, Hey whats this video harness for a Dell. I didnt order any parts. He forgot he authorized me to use his card, which I have used about 7 times without incident and all for computer parts. In a business account, we dont need the CVV2 number and thus, cannot use the card off of Amazon. So why not call the business owner and ask? Because being stupid is just so much easier. I have had one Ultrastar 3TB not spin up. All of the rest have been flawless. Dont forget to use google to search for this websites hard drive results for all of their drives in their DATA center (approx 100k hard drives, incl. model number, numbers and failures)

> 24 hourRandom reads could use some work, I dont think the read-ahead cache was very well thought out. The value for the drive is quite good though and after multiple tests as well as filling/depleting the drive multiple times, there have been no issues. Its not a quiet drive btw - pretty much all the hitachi sas drives make a bit more racket than some of their peers. Just something to keep in mind for those looking for a media center drive.

> 24 hourThe spin of the drive is acceptable but every ~5 seconds the drive will produce a clicking noise with a strong vibration. Its disappointing that online sellers are doing this to take advantage of customers and trying to get away with it. I have to pay local taxes and shipping fees to return this.

> 24 hourIt shows 9 TB when linked to a card. It worked well. I used it wish LSI 9362-8i card. it is as fast as SSD as a single drive. Good, quiet.

> 24 hourJust plugged the serial number in to the HGST warranty checker. These drives are not covered under any warranty. So if at any point during the life of this drive it does. You are SOL and out $500. Despite Overstock literally replying to the question here about warranties: HGST makes a warranty of 5 years for this drive. By OverStockUS SELLER on July 26, 2016

> 24 hourJust got the HGST drive which works well, but due to my inexperience I needed some support. I bought the 10Tb HGST through Platinum Micro and they patiently answered my novice questions. So a thanks to them.

> 24 hourWorked perfectly first try. I have a mini-SAS controller in my computer, so no problems whatsoever. Know this brand is consistently rated as highly reliable - check out Back Blazes blog, they are a data backup company and release stats every quarter on drive performance, using many different brands.

> 24 hourExcellent drive, massive capacity, cool running. No warranty with HGST, though, so be aware of that when purchasing the drives from third party sellers.

> 24 hourRunning 10 of these HGST Ultrastar HE10 drives and have not had any issues. I have successfully been able to preclear each drive which verifies every bit is readable and writable. After filling them with data the drives still operate as expected. I have not run them at full SAS speeds and have not needed any warranty service in the first year of operation. I will be purchasing more and recommend them to anyone wanting to build a large array of dependable drives.
