There are complaints about this device not showing anything on the display. That is because the user doesnt know that the brightness output has to be adjusted thru the potentiometer screw on the back of the unit. On your first attempt at using the display, adjust the display to your satisfaction. On my first try, nothing was shown until the brightness adjustment was altered.

While all LCDs are essentially the same, this model is coupled with an I2C backpack making it very easy to use. Rather than needing 4 serial lines (pins) plus power and a contrast potentiometer, the backpack provides for communication over a 2-line I2C connection and has the contrast potentiometer built in.

Easy to use with the arduino LiquidCrystal_I2C.h library. It worked well for me with no issues.

supplying with a serial adapter is great but it would be better if not soldered to display. 2 separate pieces would be more preferable. otherwise, display is sharp, good brightness control , no issues.

This item never worked.It power and turned on the light, however won’t show any data.
