Greater than one weekWithout touching a towel its so hard to know if its thick enough or soft enough. Thankfully this is both. One of the few baby hooded towels I felt was actually worth the money. I returned most others. This is warm, well made, and adorable. Its probably big enough to use until about 18months (photo is a 9lb newborn) Would recommend :)
