Hoover Switch, Rocker Uh70800 Uh70816 Uh 70820 Uh70830

Needed this switch to repair a vacuum cleaner that became inoperative. Switch worked perfectly.

Note the position of old switch on vacuum. Pop out the old one like items on an old car dash with a small flat screwdriver; disconnect; put string etc around leads from vacuum to hold in place and support with popsicle stick; slide on new switch. pull out string and pop new switch in place. Test,( with switch in for safety}. Varooooom.

The switch is an OEM replacement. Price was good and it works as one would expect. Back in business for $7.00. My beef is with Hoover. We have two different models of this vac and the other one has the power switch at the handle. Very convenient. Not this one, its half way down the handle, you have to stoop down to turn it on and off, and the engineer responsible for the design is a moron. The switch fits into a housing with two screws that you remove to replace the switch. No problem except the switch fits into the housing in such a way that it is not easy to remove the wires from the tabs and reinstall them after replacing the switch. It didnt have to be designed so it is difficult to service.

I have a hoover windtunnel and this got it running again. I little tricky to put it back together but that may have been because I waited a few weeks after taking it apart and I forgot how to run the wiring inside the handle. But I got it together with a few attempts. I broke off the top tab on the vacuum handle but it the new one is still secure. Just be careful when removing the old switch. There are several YouTube videos on how to do it that were very good. Im not that handy and I did it. A lot of the new vacuums are garbage. If you have one you like with a switch that looks like this and it just wont turn on this might fix it.

Not exactly as the picture because in the picture the button is matte and that I recieved its transparent gloss, but it works the same. Fits perfect.

Inexpensive and very easy to install. Much cheaper than buying a new vacuum!
