This is the real thing and worked perfectly for my application. The cheaper model is exacly what you are expecting. A 3ft cable with one straight and one 90° TRS connector.

I bought two of these cables to connect my two powered monitors just a few weeks ago and already they are shorting out. Ive wasted far to much money on Hosa cables because theyre inexpensive. The biggest problem is not so much the quality of sound, but they keep shorting out. Its hard to record or even listen when the left speaker starts dying midway because of an unreliable cable.
