Bought this computer because it was advertised as windows 10, but when I got it, it was windows 11. Windows 11 is a completely new operating system and is awful. If you want windows 10, do not buy this laptop!!

For the price ($529), I think this is a superb value. My old laptop put in 6 years of hard labor. After about one month on the job, I am VERY satisfied with my new one. HP has packed a lot into this model. Screen quality is excellent. Easy to use. Charges up fast. Although battery drain seems to go a bit faster than I expected. I am glad I bought this one.

Got an awesome prime day deal on this. Its a great PC with good specs. Screen is bright. Overall quality is good. I did have to return due to the lack of a touchscreen. If you need a PC and dont need a touchscreen this is a good choice.

The wifi card works out of the box from linux kernel version 5.16 onwards. On older kernels, you wont have wifi during install, which since theres no ethernet port might sound like a pain, but you can just plug in a phone and use USB tethering to get internet that way. After installing, youll need to set up the rtw89 driver using dkms. (On Arch this is painless - just install rtw89-dkms-git. On other distros, the process may be a little more manual, but is well-documented.) I cant blame HP or the seller for this; the problem is Realtek for failing to get their driver upstreamed in a timely manner, as usual from Realtek. But I stress this problem will be solved in the near future with newer kernels.

Got it for my brother whos in highschool. The machines really well made, and light - the upside of being a plastic build. Definitely can do more than just regular tasks. The white keyboard and silver lettering is not the best combo though.

I bought the laptop with another 8 GB ddr4 3200 mhz RAM, the 5500u Ryzen runs a lot better with dual channel and with high speed RAM (3200). With an external app you can change the TDP of the CPU from 15w to 25w easily with no danger. I puts mine to 30w and the temps are quite reasonable and the performance is 40% better. The thing that i highly dislike is the lack of BIOS settings for increasing VRAM on graphics..you cant get more than 512mb and the Vega 7 chip of the 5500u can handle 2gb of VRAM on others laptops. Only because HP put that bottle neck on it.
