I love the idea of this product but it didnt work more that half the time on my vacation trip. It would say it was connected but could get no internet access. Was most frustrating.

I have this little unit in the back of my house and I use it to access the internet on my laptop when I am in the front of the house, about 8 meters or 25 feet away. I dont know how long the battery lasts, because I just keep it plugged in. I am using it with Digicel Fiji. (4g). Its fast, and easy to configure. The instructions are clear and helpful. Make sure you get the correct APN and set it up yourself. Its pretty easy. The people at the Digicel office took an hour fiddling with it and didnt know how to make it work. I took it home, looked up the mobile internet configuration instructions on THEIR website, followed THEIR instructions, and I was online in 5 minutes. Moral of the story: salespeople in cellular provider shops are just that. You may know more than they do, so dont be afraid to just do an internet search for the APN (access point name) for your provider before you assume that the device doesnt work.

Not worth ten cents...I sent it back the next day. Will only work on 3G and one bar of signal. I think dial up is better than this thing...

This worked flawlessly during our entire trip to Ireland and thank heaven we had it. It allowed us to have our GPS working on our phones the entire trip along with being able to Wi-Fi talk, Etc. A lifesaver!

Like this product. Pros- Works good with Google Fi data SIM card with simple configuration. Cons- In USA, only 3G works but not 4G.

A very handy product. Worked for me directly after inserting the SIM. No need for fiddling around. Speeds are reasonable. Battery life is not that great. It lasts probably for 4 hours with full use, otherwise it lasts for at least a day.

Beware that this hotspot region locks your Wifi. I have owned many wifi pucks in my years traveling overseas while this one has been nothing but problems. The issue is that the hotspot will not unlock wifi region settings when a SIM card is installed. So depending on the carrier of your phone, you might not even be able to connect to it. My work around it to reset the device until it finally gives me a wifi channel that my unlocked T-Mobile phone will accept while in airplane mode. Usually takes me about 20 resets to get a channel, then I let the hotspot run constantly.

Very easy to set up. Works well. The battery life is alright, about 5 hours and the device does heat up a bit from being on too long

After renting a unit like this for a trip through Europe, I decided to buy my own for an upcoming trip to Egypt, since at ~$85, the device would practically pay for itself versus the costs of a rental after one trip. I bought a SIM card from the Orange kiosk in the baggage claim area in Cairo airport. The device worked well overall. It was able to handle 4 phones being connected, and I got mostly consistent 4G LTE in populated areas, with occasional dropouts. I cant tell if that was due to the network or the device, though. (Far better than what I got when I had to switch to Verizons service for a day for reasons unrelated to the device.) The battery life isnt great, so after about 4-6 hours, Id have to charge it. I just kept it connected to a power bank in my backpack. Occasionally Id have to reboot the device when I had trouble connecting, but I didnt really think that was a big deal since it only happened about every other day. The app had some minor issues connecting sometimes, but the web interface always worked. So -1 star for meh battery life and occasional minor hiccups, but overall, I think this is a good hotspot for international travel.
