First time distilling, we refermented the press cakes from this years vineyard harvest. Had no idea what the actual proof of the distillate was except that it burned. This hydrometer let us track the alcohol percentages throughout the process insuring that we weren’t over or under distilling. Also used it to determine the outcome of a double distilled batch that was then remixed with tails to the desired 80 proof. Now we age the brandy for a few years....

Junk!!! It floats to read BELOW 0 for everything. You cant have less that 0. 0 is water!

Great product but over priced

It worked just fine. I followed the instructions and determined the alcohol volume without a problem. Just remember its glass.... but it got through shipping ok. Nice box.

Works great. Was a first time user and the instructions were easy to understand.

The Kit is very nice well constructed and looks GREAT. It is very easy to use (providing you know what you doing, but its not a rocket science). The hydrometer is accurate to a point. I do recommend this product to anyone. Brewing America provided a solid and nice looking product.
