First time distilling, we refermented the press cakes from this years vineyard harvest. Had no idea what the actual proof of the distillate was except that it burned. This hydrometer let us track the alcohol percentages throughout the process insuring that we weren’t over or under distilling. Also used it to determine the outcome of a double distilled batch that was then remixed with tails to the desired 80 proof. Now we age the brandy for a few years....

Its made it remarkably easy to know what the purity of my ethanol is.

A lot easier to use than I expected. Excellent quality.
