Easier to install than I thought. Saves me time, convenient to use, integrated with Alexa, and a hoot to have

This comes as a two pack of smart outlet plugs. I got these because my indoor Christmas lights timer stopped working. It was easy to connect this to my smartlife app. This allowed me to set my lights to a timer to turn on and off at Certain times each day, even setting different times each day; I would set these to turn on earlier on Friday Saturday and Sunday, and turn off earlier on school nights so as to help my young children with bed time. I didnt really use the energy monitoring but did see that as an option on this. The plug takes up just one plug of my outlet leaving room to use the other outlet plug for something else.

We have a few rooms in our old house that isnt heated well with the home central heater so we are forced to keep an old school oil-filled electric heater to keep that room heated during the winter. The problem is that we have often forgotten to turn it off when its not being used. Thats where this smart switch is ideal. Not just because I can control the switch, but I can also monitor its energy usage. Im not a big fan of all the different apps that every different manufacturer uses, but with the added functionality of the energy monitor, I was willing to install and use an additional app. For day to day operation, it works great with Alexa and I really only use the Greeni app to track the energy usage. The app gives you real time info for the devices energy consumption for current (mAmps), Power (watts), voltage, and total (KWh). In addition to that, it also breaks it down into power usage daily and monthly. I think this can be very useful for knowing where all your your energy dollars are going. That is the differentiating factor with this smart switch, the energy monitoring feature. While its not necessary for all appliances, I do like having it especially for heaters, fans and even air purifiers. Keep in mind this doesnt work so well for newer devices that use newer touch controls and you dont have physical buttons that can remain on even after power is cut from the unit. For me, I was specifically looking for something I can use to control heating and cooling devices for that remote room and this switch works great.

We ordered these because they were a good value but definitely had to put some work in to get Alexa to recognize them. Weve had plenty of other power sources that work with Alexa and these were on the more difficult end. In the future I think well order name brand ones that are easier to set up.

This user friendly, better than the old fashion timer.

Nice unit, however, it does not sync with iHome Control, which I was hoping for. I have other outlet controllers and since this does not sync I have to use separate apps

About a year later, I am updating my review from 3 to 4 stars. I did originally purchase these with the expectation that they would work with my iHome app and they didnt, which disappointed me. However, I did keep these plugs and they have been working great. I even purchased two more recently to have more available smart plugs in the house. I love that I can set schedules for the plug to turn on and off and turn the plug on and off with my phone app. The entire reason I chose these is because I already have an iHome plug & the iHome app and I didnt want to have to download another app. These plugs are not compatible with the iHome app. You will be forced to download another random app to use them. However, separate from the app frustration, the plugs have been working just fine.

Ihome dose not support these anymore. Have to down load Geeni. Pretty easy to do, but won’t connect. I emailed customer service and they gave me a number. They where wonderful! Works now!

As of April 2, 2022, these are unusable... Basically trash unless you use Apple HomeKit. When they did work with Google Home, I had to constantly reconnect them to wifi. Now you cannot use them at all… “Any integration with third party services such as Google Assistant, SmartThings, Amazon Alexa, Wink or IFTTT will no longer work. Please transition to using HomeKit wherever possible.” I highly recommend Kasa Smart Plugs instead. I’ve never had an issue with them.

I never thought we would love smart plugs until we got some. These were very easy to setup with Alexa and work seamlessly. We have our outdoor patio lights and fish tank plugged into them. The outdoor lights utilize Alexa, which is fantastic when taking the dogs out when dark; you simply tell Alexa to turn on the outside lights and BOOM they are on. You then do the same when turning them off. You can also turn them off/on through the app which is great while on vacation or away from home so it gives the impression someone is in the home. The fish tank is set up on a timer and works wonderfully. I would purchase again.
