So it should last years, but probably not decades like full grain leather. Nice zipper. Explanation of leather qualities. Leather comes in different qualities, and the names are hard to remember and grading leather is not straightforward because it also depends on the manufacturer, but as a rule of thumb you can use the definitions below. . The lowest quality is “genuine leather” that just means it is made out of leather bonded together. Next is top grain leather, its made by splitting full grain leather and sanding away imperfections. Best quality is full grain leather, this is the sort that is made from the whole hide, it often has imperfections but ages really well, full grain is the kind that gets better with age. Avoid things like “bonded leather” which is scraps glued together.
