I am a fairly athletic 60 year old and I actually bought this set AFTER first buying the smaller 3 disc Beginners set. I was so pleased with the control and flight of the beginner set that I ordered this slightly more advanced set. The beginner set has 3 discs that average 149 grams in weight and are especially good for smaller, less athletic players although more athletic players will also get great control and distance. This set of 5 discs average 20 grams heavier at 169 grams and offer more flexibility but require more speed/strength to take advantage of their properties. By having both sets I actually have even greater flexibility for a variety of close in and long range courses. Innova is a great product.

This is a pretty versatile set of discs but they aren’t really that well suited for beginners. The destroyer is listed on Innova website as not for beginners. The Aviar, while fantastic, isn’t amazing for beginners either. This kit is great for someone who’s used their buddies discs a few times and is ready for their own set. But if you’ve never thrown a disc check out the discraft beginner set. It’s a bit more first timer friendly.

Im a long time ultimate disc thrower, but new to disc golf, and purchased both the Innova and Dynamic disc set of 5. Innova averaged 5 grams lighter (167 gr. Vs 173 for DD). I liked the feel of Dynamic disc plastic a little better than Innova, but for now I have more success throwing the Innova discs (roc3 and leopard especially). I prefer the dynamic disc putter. You cant go wrong with either set, but Innova gets the nod for beginners. And for the record, colors were fine on both sets, with Innova discs being a little brighter / easier to find:)

Everything you have come to expect from the Innova products now available in a Starter Set. This set is great for the new player but has room to “grow” into as you gain experience.

Was disappointed that I received two of the very same disks in my set. This means I am missing one of the discs that is supposed to be in the set.

great beginners set, affordable so you don’t have to retrieve from creeks and ponds if you happen to do a water landing…. good set (variety) just to practice and figure out which ones fit your throwing style

I love my set, but I did get some kinda girly colors, but oh well.
