Just died this morning with No warning or blue screen of death. I found that the data disk was not initialized. Earlier this week I checked for firmware updates and ran a manual trim performed a full diagnostic scan and all went well. I was able to reinitialize and format the drive after but now I am tasked with finding the backup for this particular drive. I should consider raid 1 for this ssd but that would require me to buy another. I will not be recommending this ssd to my clients unless the price comes way down so I can buy 2 and mirror them.

Silent, Quick, easy to install, runs cool. So far so good. I meant to purchase the Intel 665P but the sale limit of 2 per customer meant I had to go elsewhere and elsewhere did not have the sale. After reading the reviews I am glad I went with Intel, and would do it again. My build included 2 660P and 2 665P (all 2 TB each) - I cannot tell the difference operationally.

I use this to store my Steam games when Im not actively playing them. I keep a couple games on my laptops internal NVME drive, which is a top-shelf gaming NVME drive and consequently costs a LOT more per GB than this drive. This drive is still incredibly fast, and I regularly reached transer speeds in excess of 800MB/s with an external M.2 enclosure (previous SSD w/ external enclosure averaged ~400MB/s). Note: This drive is capable of transfering faster if mounted internally. The 800MB/s limit is from the USB-C port it connects to.

I use this as my OS bot disk, but only part of it. the rest is partitioned to work alongside my other drives as extra space. this this is fast and boot time is awesome. PC boots in 4-5 seconds. for the price per gig, this drive is a good deal, even though it changes from time to time, which pisses me off as at times it will increase out of nowhere, but I digress. since it is intel based, you can use it with the migrating software on the intel website to migrate your data and/or OS over to it. Gaming wise, If you are a modder, this drive is good for loading and deploying mods to games fast. the drive has one large tooth and one small tooth, so itll fit inside the slots with only one groove, NOT 2. make sure you check that out before buying for compatibility reasons.

I got this for some data that has directories with 10s of thousands of files in some of the directories. A standard spinning disk takes minutes to return a search result in the application that manages that data. Years ago I moved to a 500 gig ssd that took search times to just 5 second or so for the same search. Then I moved to a 1 tb ssd running at about 450 and with the increased number of files still maintained the 5 second search time. I was just running out of room on the 1tb drive and wanted to increase performance as well as capacity and I found this on sale for under 200 dollars. Its not as fast as a Samsung NVME but even at about 1/3 the speed its still 2+ times faster than an ssd. I put it in a aftermarket pcie card on my desktop and copied the almost terabyte of data over and though I was going to melt it down. Even with an heat sink it got to hot to touch and data transfer dropped to under 20mbs. It took a long time to copy the data. However once that was done and it cooled down speeds rose back to 1000mbs and my normal data transfers to it of a few mb to maybe a gig at the time run blazingly fast and searches come back in maybe 4 seconds now. It wasnt as big of a jump in performance as I wanted but it was significant and at the price which was less than the standard 2tb samsung ssd I looked at it has done stellar duty.. Its been in daily use for about 6 months now.

I bought a MacBook Air (early 2015 model) with just 128gb of memory. I finally to a point where that just wasnt enough. I combined this with Sintech NGFF M.2 nVME SSD Adapter Card (the long one, not the short one), and the combination works great. I had a Time Machine backup, and between it and a flashdrive with an iOS installer I was back up again in an hour or two (it only took about ten minutes to swap out the drive; the rest was all reinstalling the iOS and Time Machine backup). So... for less that $100, my MacBook Air has a new lease on life.

I installed the 2 TB SSD in place of the OEM 128 GB original to my laptop using a Sintech adapter. I initialized this to APFS and created 2 volumes in a single container. One volume currently runs Mojave 10.14.6 and the other runs Catalina 10.15.1. I have had no problem with either MacOS in this configuration for two months of use. I can now clone my Catalina running desktop to my laptop for travel. And as a benefit I can also boot Mojave to run some older software I still currently need to access. An inexpensive way to breed new life into my older laptop.

This really increased the speed of my loading times, I am using an older i7 and wanted a slight upgrade for speed and this item was way more speed than expected. It wont make gaming better but as far as load times the difference was phenomenal and very easy to install. I have moderate computer building experience so watch so.e videos to decide if this is something you can handle.

I’m running 2 of these in a storage pool for a total of 2 Tbs. Are they the fastest drive on the market? No but they work well enough for the average person. Sustained writes tend to bog the controller down but if you’re coming from a normal sata ssd, you’ll be very pleased. My first solid state drive was an intel 160gb sata II back in 2008 and it’s still running. I have no reason to believe that these drives will outlive the system they are installed in.

I purchased this little gem to replace the SSD in my Predator Helios 300. The 256 GB drive was just a little too small for my liking and I was constantly swapping games to and from the mechanical storage so Id have fast loading for whatever I was playing at the time. I needed more storage on my SSD. Enter the Crucial MX500. Good speed, good reliability, and at a reasonable price. I was ready to hit buy, then I saw the Intel 660p was on sale for the same price. A faster drive, with 12 GB more storage. I figured, why not... and have been happy since. I think this is a great product for a great price. If you can nab it on sale, go for it. Youll be happy with it.
