Greater than one weekThe i7-12700K is in the top 5 for gaming CPUs right now. AMD is doing fairly well as of late but Intel has a solid performance lead with its single core performance on newer generation chips.

> 3 daySold my i9-9900k after using it for a few years and back in Sept. went with Ryzen 9 5900X and MSI B550 Unify X great combo but under water my temps were a bit too high for my standards even with pbo /negative offset settings I wasn’t happy with the temps. This Alder Lake CPU is running at 22c on Idle and 52c to 56 under full load “Gaming at 1440p under an EK D5 pump reservoir . All I can say this thing is faster than my i9-9900K and faster and cooler than my previous AMD Ryzen builds .

> 3 dayGreat cpu performs well but runs hotter. I have a good aio and it runs about 5 to 10 Celcius hotter than 9700k.

> 3 dayThis CPU has a lot going for it, wether your getting into 12th Gen for its impressive gaming performance or not overwhelmingly expensive prices, this cpu will definitely put the power you need into the system your building & with the right cooler you will never have to worry about this chip getting beyond 40-50c under load with its factory tune. By far one of best decisions i made when i build my friends first pc this year.

Greater than one weekNo doubt, 12th gen Intel processors are a marvel of computing technology. Although there is a continuing tug of war between Intel and AMD in this regard. I personally chose Intel Core i7 (12700K) with inbuilt UHD graphics for my newly built desktop PC. For those, who dont want to use a separate and usually exorbitantly priced graphics cards, this processor is a very good alternative. It can handle most of the processing intensive rendering of Blender easily with its unlocked overclocking (obviously you have to use the supporting motherboard, i.e. presently available Z690 chipset motherboards). It can also smoothly handle almost all the tasks of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop with no hiccups. Not to mention the support of 4K video with HDR if you are looking for some decent and the latest entertainment in your PC. I would suggest this 12th Gen i7 to those who want to use their PC for content creation purpose in the best possible way and also at the same time save some money (compared to 12th Gen i9, which would ideally be the best anyway, but costlier too). The price is still at a high level. Hopefully this comes down soon with the launch of Intels 13th Gen processors!
