04-04-2025Cpu works great. Performance is unreal. Only complaint isn’t with the cpu itself but with delivery. Only reason for 4 stars is Packaging was TERRIBLE! Box was smooshed so bad I’m surprised it actually works

> 3 dayDefinitely be sure to have adequate cooling on this beast - even with a moderate overclock youre quickly drawing a ton of power and making a ton of heat! Great value for money if you need the horsepower for CAD, photo/video work and gaming.

> 3 dayThe 12th gen i7 12700k is one of the best gaming CPUs on the market when you even out all the factors including budget, speed, performance, overclocking, etc. I have a 3 fan AIO to cool this beast, I recomend you do the same to ensure a long lasting chip.

> 3 dayNo doubt, 12th gen Intel processors are a marvel of computing technology. Although there is a continuing tug of war between Intel and AMD in this regard. I personally chose Intel Core i7 (12700K) with inbuilt UHD graphics for my newly built desktop PC. For those, who dont want to use a separate and usually exorbitantly priced graphics cards, this processor is a very good alternative. It can handle most of the processing intensive rendering of Blender easily with its unlocked overclocking (obviously you have to use the supporting motherboard, i.e. presently available Z690 chipset motherboards). It can also smoothly handle almost all the tasks of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop with no hiccups. Not to mention the support of 4K video with HDR if you are looking for some decent and the latest entertainment in your PC. I would suggest this 12th Gen i7 to those who want to use their PC for content creation purpose in the best possible way and also at the same time save some money (compared to 12th Gen i9, which would ideally be the best anyway, but costlier too). The price is still at a high level. Hopefully this comes down soon with the launch of Intels 13th Gen processors!

Greater than one weekOverall, I believe at the time of this review that the 12700K chip is the best value for the power you can get. My typical price point is about $350-400 and with 12 cores, it is an awesome upgrade from my 3rd Gen Ivy bridge processor. It was simple to install and worked perfectly with no issues.
