Intel Core i7-8700K Desktop Processor 6 Cores up to 4.7GHz Turbo Unlocked LGA1151 300 Series 95W

Hello new processor. Limited release. I happened to be in the market for a new CPU and here it is. Is this essentially a speed binned 8700K? Yes. Is that a problem? No. 4GHz base clockspeed with a 5 GHz max boost speed makes this Intels fastest clocked X86 processor to date. The uber-overclockers have already hit 7GHz albeit with cooling and methods I will never have. In any case, I will update my review after a month or so of usage. So far, get it while it is available and before it is gone. Happy 40th x86! And Happy 50th @ 5GHz Intel.

Der Prozessor ist in seiner Leistungsklasse absolut Top. Ich habe die geboxte Version gekauft (inkl. Kühler). Wer diesen Prozessor mit höherer Belastung betreibt, sollte aber gleich einen anderen Kühler montieren. Der mitgelieferte Kühler ist nicht zu überhören. Sollte in dieser Leistungs- und Preisklasse nicht sein.

Paired with asus maximus xi hero, Rtx 2070, Corsair Vengance rgb pro 3000mhz DDR4 Ram, Corsair H100i 240mm AIO & Samsung evo 860 SSD and runs flawlessly overclocking to around 4.9 ghz. @ 74c max temps under load. Doesnt even hiccup.

Performance can be great problem is only owning the product for a week I am noticing the idle temps is pretty high at least to me 40 to 50 c and playing farcry 5 can jumped close to 80c this is with an aio. Motherboard is the Maximus x default settings no over clock even with xmp off, requested exchange hopefully it’s just bad luck on silicon lottery will update review when new one comes.

Just upgraded to this for my gaming rig. Beast CPU. Still the best single-threaded performance over Ryzen as of this review. Still has 6 cores and 12 threads for all the multitasking Ill need for the next 3-4 years, if not longer. Paired with a Noctua D9L air cooler. Im not OCing right now, but the D9L could handle a mild OC.
