I bought this as an early Christmas gift for my son. He was very surprised that he got his own little pc. It is a bit pricey but worth the investment.

Arrived on time and booted right up! The only issue is that it will frequently shut itself off when in sleep mode and when rebooted it displays a message that the system unexpected shutdown due to a thermal problem. The unit is in a cool indoor environment and all by itself on a desk (no obstructions).

After 3 lap tops that each die around 3 years mark, it is time to switch back to desktop. The small form factor of the NUC sits comfortably near my work laptop, doesn’t take up noticeable space when I tug it underneath my PC monitor. It is impressively fast when it upgraded to Windows 11 and I did all of the additional software installations needed for my daily personal use. Once in a while, I hear the device hums otherwise it is a quiet machine. All devices connect seamlessly (touch screen monitor, keyboard, mouse, camera/speaker, etc).

Roon Optimized Core Kit installation was fine. All of the mistakes I made were self-inflicted and re-doable. Just be persistent and read carefully! Now enjoying my 3000+ and growing Roon album library from rips and Tidal.

this is great machine if you need something powerful and also small size. using it as my 24/7 media server and its been working great. Its also upgradeable if you want go up to 32GB RAM and bigger SSD. Type C connection let you use a dock which makes it even better. overall, very solid machine
