> 24 hourWorked great. Just read details about using this pigment on Jacquard’s website, it can separate if the dye bath gets too hot. It worked great re-coloring wool I removed the dye from.

> 24 hourOutside of the fact that Ritz dye has become impossible to find around my area and it was hard to apportion when coloring real tiny items, these Jacquard Acid dyes seem to be more intense, do not smell and dont bleed at all. I am only dying thin strings of wool to use as wrist wear, can only find them in Kabbala red which isnt where were at but I found some white wool thread that just needed to be dyed the right color. I received my Brilliant Blue almost overnight (love instant gratification) and immediately tried coloring a thread, too dark, use less powder. The next string was perfect. The powder should last forever since I only used less than a pinch. I have a violet coming this week. Makes me feel so creative!

> 24 hourFabric came out a Bright Jewel Tone Emerald --- picture sample lead me to believe it was darker than it turned out to be. Might have been the type of fabric...Looked beautiful but much Brighter than I had originally planned.

> 24 hourAcid dye only works on certain types of yarn or cloth - protein fibres, so silk, wool, cashmere, nylon. It wont dye rayon, cotton or polyester or any of those - but jacquard acid dyes work really well on the fibres they are made for. I use white vinegar for the acid and have no problems at all - this black is the black of night - and can be mixed with other colours to make them darker. Perfect.

> 24 hourIm thinking it was more user error but I followed the directions. Color was dull and didnt last. The shirt I did washed out and looked like it was put in the wrong color wash. I have use other dyes and didnt have the same problem.

> 24 hourFirst things first. Protect everything you dont wish to dye. Wear gloves, a mask (which I didnt do, foolishly), old clothes, plastic wrap your counters (maybe your floors as well). Have Clorox wipes on hand if youre working on a stove; use a pot thats stainless/enamel/glass; thermometer (I used a glass candy thermometer that clipped on the side of the pot). When I opened the dye, it looks rust-toned even though the label says Jet Black #626. Do NOT let this fool you. Once the powder hit the water, the resulting color black. Jet Black. Black as the Abyss, Black. Demon Eyes, Black. Seriously Damn Black. The directions I printed out for acid dyeing on the stovetop mentioned leaving the items in the dye bath for 30 minutes (or longer) in order to get a deep, rich color. The items being dyed had been in the bath for a mere 5 minutes when they had taken on a good deal of the dye already - sporting a deep inky black - giving me a clear idea of how well this product worked. I must say, if this initial test is any indication of how this product performs, then Ive so many wonderful plans for the future.
