Janome Plastic Bobbins for All Home Use Models

These bobbins came in a carded package that looked very much like the default picture. When I took the bobbins out, however, I compared them to the genuine Janome bobbins that came with my machine and the ones I got in New York where Janome machines are regularly sold , and... they are NOT the same. I still have yet to determine if they work okay with my machine, but I am disappointed to find that I did not get the standard Janome bobbins this seller claims to sell. These bobbins are slightly bigger (1 mm), and have a yellow tint in the plastic, whereas my original bobbins have a blueish tint. These are DEFINITELY NOT the Janome bobbins that come with most Janome machines (Ive been in multiple sewing classes that use different models of Janome, and so far all models have used the same interchangeable bobbin). I am not a Janome official so I am reluctant to give a definitive statement, but based on all of my experience with Janome machines, these are not Janome bobbins. It also took a over a week to get them - I think I am normally spoiled by Amazon with their speedy shipping.

Despite the advertising, these bobbins do not work in the Sewist 740DC. I emailed the company before I purchased them and they said they work. Well, not when you hear the machine clunking as it’s sewing. Changed out the bobbin to one that came with the machine and problem solved. I thought these were returnable but I guess not. Lost on this gamble. I will call Janome and get to the bottom of it and update this review. Update: Unable to contact Janome. They keep redirecting you to a dealer. Upgraded to 3 star because I did try a different bobbin from this pkg. and it seems to work. Might just be the first one I used was somehow distorted or defective. As I stated above, I contacted Richmond Hill, the seller and they did not give me specific info. They should be able to respond confirming it fits specific model. So for now, I would say it works. Shouldn’t be this frustrating to get the info one needs to make sound purchasing decision. I need more bobbins but won’t reorder due to no returns. I’d rather pay more and buy it from a local dealer.
