JanSport Cool Student 15-Inch Laptop Backpack-Classic School Bag, Navy, One Size

I bought for my son as a university student. He loves that.

I had a Jansport in college, several years ago. Material was, essentially, denim and the bag was almost indestructible. I let my son have it when he started junior high and he managed to damage it...but he could tear up an anvil. This bags material is thin, which is not an issue. Its just different than the old Jansport I had in college. The problem I have with this bag is twofold. First, there are flaps that cover most of the zippers. I assume they are cosmetic because they serve no other purpose other than to discourage someone from unzipping the bag in a crowd while its on the owners back. You have to flip the flap up in order to unzip, which I find mildly infuriating. Also, due to the thin, soft material, the bag falls forward when placed on a flat surface. This isnt unique to this bag. Im pretty sure most of them do this. Regardless if what you put in any of the pockets, the bag migrates forward and tries to fall over on its front. It would be cool if they would make a bag that had a rigid bottom that wouldnt fall over.

Its lightweight, I like the number of pockets. Would have preferred a little more padding for my laptop but its okay. Ive walked around it in the rain and my belongings were still dry. Its more pleasing to look at IRL then the picture on Amazon.

The bag is able to accommodate a lot of things. Im a college student and it is currently holding my laptop w/charger and mouse, 3 two subject notebooks, 1 beefy textbook, switch case, calculator case and my phone charger. The side bottle holder is great and havent dropped my bottle while walking around. Once filled it gets pretty heavy which is to be expected. Ive had it for 2 months now and that straps show no signs of breaking or tearing from all the weight. Only issue is that the zipper can sometimes get stuck on the small flap that covers it.

Great backpack for most things.

I always thought these bags were overpriced and just for the namebrand. Now i see they are actually very well made and durable.
