JanSport Right Pack Backpack - Travel, Work, or Laptop Bookbag with Leather Bottom, Black

Leather strap ripped off so easily. Was able to do a makeshift repair and tied back up again. So far so good.

I have used JanSport backpacks for decades and have always been pleased with the comfort, durability, and aesthetic. This bag is pictured to have a black outside and inside. Unfortunately, mine arrived with white inside. This is not ideal as it will show dirt and wear over time. I got over excited and cut the tags off before I unzipped the thing, so I guess Im stuck with it.

My daughter received the backpack as a gift for Christmas (2022). It has been used barely for 2-3 months, and the laptop sleeve has already torn. The laptop is not even a heavyweight adult version laptop - it is a super light weight Chrome book that schools normally issue. While the rest of the bag seems holding up ok so far, it is now nevertheless a broken bag that takes more hassles if to claim the warranty. Disappointed.

Ive been using this for school. The color is great and still the same quality I always remembered jansport having.

I walk with two canes, so I use my backpack frequently. I had a Jansport backpack before this one, but the bottom was not suede, but a imitation that after a while started to flake off. The suede bottom backpacks are very durable. I used the same one for 3 years of high school, and it lasted. Jansport makes a good backpack, so long as you get the suede bottom.

I had a Jansport superbreak, it lasted 10 years of brutal school and travel use before the zippers started acting up. Obviously with durability like that I chose to buy another Jansport, and I settled on this because it solved a few gripes I had with my old one. Upon receiving it I noted that the stitching around the handle and straps at the top were looser, even more than on my well used bag. But Im not a seamstress so I didnt think it would affect the function. Boy was I wrong! The left strap started to tear away from the top of the bag after a month. My old bag had held up to this for 10 years, this new one couldnt even make it 10 weeks. It got so bad that I brought my old faded super break back into use. I sent (at my expense) the still new backpack to Jansport to see if theyd fix it. If they make it right Ill bring it up to a 4 star because I like the bag otherwise. Update: They fixed it. They repaired the strap and and shored up some of the stitching. I dont think Ill have this problem again.

It is a nice large backpack for our daughter’s grade 11. Great bag and very good product for the price.
