JBL makes good speakers at affordable prices, I think most people can agree with that. Its also waterproof, and built rugged to withstand bumps and short falls, so you dont have to worry so much about where youre bringing it. The most important thing for me personally though is that the Charge 4 still has an AUX input, which seems to be a dying option on devices. Of course the bluetooth is solid, but I still have an iPod and Im not ready to give up the fight for AUX yet. Ive only had my Charge 4 for a few months, so I cant comment on the battery life over the course of years, but straight out of the box it is amazing. I use it almost every day for an hour or so and I have to charge it only once a week.

The JBL Charge 4 is a great speaker. The sound quality coming from it is fantastic. Updated Charge 2+ to this model. Just the right size.

I bought the Charge 4 to replace my Charge 2 (Which ironically eventually couldn’t hold a charge). This is an awesome Bluetooth speaker. Great sound quality great volume, great bass and great treble. What more could you ask for in a speaker for just over $100. And it charges other devices… A win-win! I take it everywhere. I take it to the beach. I take it when I’m going out to have a picnic. I take it outside when I’m just sitting out back having a drink and reading. I take it to my community gym and pool to listen to music to motivate me while I’m working out. I even take it in my golf bag so I can have great music when I’m playing alone. This is the speaker you want to buy

Loudness is perfect for what I need it for. Sound is clear. Battery life is amazing. I accidentally dropped it from about 17 inches onto concrete and you can’t tell. I also enjoy the case it came with to keep everything in one place.

With regard to the seller: I ordered two charge 4s to run in a stereo pair. The two units I received were not identical. Not only did they sound slightly different (one noticeably louder than the other with better high frequency response), but the LED charge and button lights were of different brightness and the JBL red tag on the front looked different - one was more shiny and appeared to have been manufactured differently than the other. Also, the two cases I received were not the same. Both worked fine, but they were not the same and one, in fact, was much nicer than the other. Im left unsure if one of the products was older, or refurbished, or....??? With regard to sound: These units are nice and theyre much better if you pair two together - but theyre still just not that great in my opinion. I did compare them to my older Charge 3s and they do have a better balance and mid-range. But, they have slightly less bass. My Sonos Move definitely sounds way better as a single speaker - although two Charge 4s provide better sound separation and are almost as loud. Many of my friends and family love the Charge 4 speakers and they are durable and good looking with excellent battery life and easy set up. But, I returned them both because I wasnt sure why the two didnt match, and because I want even better sound. Im going to try a single Ultimate Ears HyperBoom and see if that gets the job done (even if it isnt really portable).

The sound of this speaker is great. The batterys life is also awesome it works great for camping. And the caring case that comes with it is pretty convenient.
