> 3 dayThis alligator pool float scares away ducks! Look at the photo to see how I added two lead weight fishing sinkers using clear monofilament fishing line around the front via the neck and rear via in front of the hind legs. I also tied a white landscaping brick to the neck of the alligator using clear monofilament fishing line and placed the brick in the center of the pool using my pool skimmer pole. This setup keeps the alligator floating flat on the surface, slows the movement caused by wind, and keeps the alligator visible within the middle area of the pool. We have watched the incoming ducks swooping in to land in our pool and then accelerate up and away immediately upon viewing this alligator! Its actually kind of funny to watch. We tried chasing them off. We tried allowing our dog to chase them off. We tried stringing fishing line around the edges of the pool and across the pool. Nothing stopped the ducks from pooping in our pool EVERY DAY until we installed this alligator as shown in the photo and described here. Without the fishing weights and tying the alligator to the brick by his neck, the first breeze blew the alligator out of the pool and into our backyard.

> 3 dayBlew it up and while it was sitting on a lawn chair untouched it spontaneously deflated and I purposely underinflated because it warned in the directions not to over inflate. It looked nice but was a cheap piece of junk not worth the money

> 3 dayI bought this product three weeks ago to scare away some ducks that kept coming into my pool. It lasted three weeks, until it started coming apart at the seams of the legs. Although, it did work for the ducks. As soon as we pulled it out to mend it, or try to. It has come apart in the same area in the legs 3 to 4 times within this week. The ducks came back!! It did work for three weeks. I just wish it wouldn’t of come apart at the seams of the legs.

> 3 daySo I read the suggestions, and since I have a robot cleaner tying it to a weigh on bottom of pool, it wont work. Has anybody tried partially filling with water ?

> 3 dayWe ordered this hoping that, as other reviews said, it would keep the ducks out of our pool. They were landing in our pool several times a day and creating a mess. As soon as Sparky the Gator went in the pool, no ducks dared to go in it. Im sure they dont know what an alligator is, but since its 4 feet long, they just arent sure what to make of it as it floats around the pool. A couple watched it from the poolside for a short time, but never got in the water and they havent been back since. So happy that this worked!

> 3 dayThe “alligator” came delivered in a bag. I was amazed by how flimsy it is. While it inflates like a regular beach ball, the air comes out almost as fast as you blow it in. I bought this because a duck or two crapped in my pool on my new plaster. Despite the other reviews and video, as with many things that are sold on Amazon, it’s difficult to obtain a real sense of what this product is before purchase. It is a kid’s pool toy that might help some to ward off ducks in a pool. The ducks actually or potentially in one’s pool have to be extremely stupid to mistake this toy as a predator. Even with all of these observations, I decided to keep and deploy the “alligator”. The price is OK and I didn’t want to take a chance with a return of my feathered friends. It is not the only defensive measure that I took. I also strung some weed wacker line low and near the steps because of a video that I saw in which a man used fishing line. Between the two measures, the ducks have not been back since Thursday night. Hopefully, my success so far will continue without interruption. As pool owners know or should know, duck crap is very bad for plaster and unhealthy. P.S. Almost One Month Later: “Al” has been doing “his” job. The ducks have not returned and the pool seems relatively cleaner from other wildlife’s avoidance measures. So, I am pleased with “him”. “He” hangs by where I do as if “he” is keeping me company. So, I am pleased with “him” overall.

> 3 dayNot holding air. Started out OK but got worse every week. Now have to inflate it every day. Just past the 30 day return window for Amazon and seller will not offer a warranty or any return/refund/replacement option.

> 3 dayWe have had ducks come to our pool for the last 8 years and stay for 5 months. I have tried so so many things to keep them out of my pool and nothing worked until now! We put some string on it and tied it to our pool cleaner and it moves around the pool all day long making it seem real. We have no ducks or any birds come and bath in our pool spa waterfall anymore. It is amazing!

Greater than one weekI don’t know if this inflatable gator will keep the ducks out of my pool, but I was impressed with its quality and ease of inflation. I hope it doesn’t scare the pool guy.
