17-11-2024A family of ducks came to my pool from the leg half a mile away. They were so cute, but the 1st day, 7 of the 12 duck babies died. I had to get them to a safer place and keep them out of my pool. I saw on Reddit that people put inflatable alligators in their pools to keep the ducks away. I bought this one, and took the babies to the lake. However mama was not deterred by the alligator and continued to return to my pool. The alligator is funny but it doesnt work to keep the ducks away.

> 3 daySmallish but really realistic looking inflatable alligator was supposed to be a deterrent to the ducks that wanted to make our pool their new home. They were not scared a bit, but our yard guys got quite a scare. At least the grandkids will have fun playing with it in the pool.

Greater than one weekSturdy, lifelike…well, I bought as a duck deterrent…apparently not lifelike enough for them. They still land in the yard and stand on the edge looking at it…BUT it has kept them from setting up a nest in the yard AND they have not entered the water…so doing what I need it to do

> 3 dayI was having an issue with ducks coming to my swimming pool. With the help of the alligator they seem to have found another place to land. I like having the alligator bobbing around in the pool instead of the ducks. I am thinking of buying another one.

> 3 dayMy hopes were high that we could dissuade a mallard pair from making our back yard their personal love nest, but they don’t seem to care much about this air-filled reptile floating with them. It looks like ducks should fear it; however, these two do not. We’ve tried placing it in different areas to no avail. I guess rubber snakes are next.

> 3 dayThis alligator pool float scares away ducks! Look at the photo to see how I added two lead weight fishing sinkers using clear monofilament fishing line around the front via the neck and rear via in front of the hind legs. I also tied a white landscaping brick to the neck of the alligator using clear monofilament fishing line and placed the brick in the center of the pool using my pool skimmer pole. This setup keeps the alligator floating flat on the surface, slows the movement caused by wind, and keeps the alligator visible within the middle area of the pool. We have watched the incoming ducks swooping in to land in our pool and then accelerate up and away immediately upon viewing this alligator! Its actually kind of funny to watch. We tried chasing them off. We tried allowing our dog to chase them off. We tried stringing fishing line around the edges of the pool and across the pool. Nothing stopped the ducks from pooping in our pool EVERY DAY until we installed this alligator as shown in the photo and described here. Without the fishing weights and tying the alligator to the brick by his neck, the first breeze blew the alligator out of the pool and into our backyard.

> 3 dayThis was bought as an inside joke but was worth the money paid. It was actually much nicer than expected.

> 3 dayI got this alligator to keep away the ducks. I have personally now witnessed ducks that fly over thinking better of it, and moving on. This little thing is life-like, to the point it’s startling when you first get it and see it out of the corner of your eye. Good quality and seriously life-like. Looks like a baby alligator. I see in reviews that it fades if left in the sun. I just pull it out of the water and store it and then put it back out in the evening and retrieve in the morning. The hours that count for the ducks (at least here) are in the evening and early morning. LOL anyways this is a win!

> 3 dayIt looks real but it’s pretty small compared to what I thought it would be.
