> 24 hourI have tried many different brands of sketchbooks over the years. Seawhite is now my favorite for graphite and pen. The paper has perfect tooth for maintaining the clarity of graphite line-work. The paper can also hold a good amount of graphite for creating layers. Its also great to pen work. The sketchbook is very solidly built. I love the square format. Great Product.

> 24 houri ordered this sketchbook because an artist i follow online uses these and recommended them. i really love the square format and the size (10”) - it’s hard to find square sketchbooks and rarely can i find them in the 10” size. (most are 8” or smaller.) so i was excited to finally find this available to order via amazon. i love the hardcover binding. it’s a very good looking sketchbook. and i love that it’s so big, 96 pages! my only disappointment is that the paper is not super great for acrylic paint, which is what i generally use sketchbooks for. the description clearly says that it is cartridge paper, which i think is the british way of saying regular printer paper, so i knew what i was ordering. it’s not advertised as being heavyweight or even really meant for wet media. but i guess since i saw an artist i know who paints using oils and acrylics was using it for a sketchbook, i thought maybe the paper would accept paint better than it does. it’s not awful - i can paint in it and i will use it happily. but because the paper curls a bit and the paint/moisture bleeds through to the back of the paper, i probably won’t paint on the back of each sheet the way i usually do in a sketchbook. so that will make it not quite as big as i hoped. but the large-ish square format is still really helpful so i will keep playing with it. maybe if i prep the pages with gesso or gel medium it will help. (i did not so far do that.) i’m still more or less pleased with it and glad i tried it out. i’m kind of a sketchbook hoarder! lol but i probably won’t order another one in this exact style again. maybe i’ll just use this one more for dry media sketching or even journaling or collaging. (i haven’t tried collaging yet.)

> 24 hourThis book is great for pen & ink and even watercolor. It takes and releases masking fluid like a champ, and very few paints/inks I have tried so far have bled through. I love this sketchbook! The paper is bright white and looks stunning when paired with a really dark black ink, like Sailors.

> 24 hourI realllllllly wanted to love this sketchbook. But the paper just seems too thin for what I prefer. I really enjoy sketching in pen and not seeing the ghosting of the sketch on the reverse side of the page, so that I can use both sides easily. The sketchbook doesnt open completely flat, but thats alright. I loved the size at about 10x10 inches. I also loved how many pages there were! I returned it though and got the Seawhite Eco Starter sketchbooks at 150 gsm and I am really enjoying those.

> 24 hourI am fairly new to keeping a sketchbook, but I was looking for something that had paper suitable for a variety of media and that came in a larger format. Seawhite and Brightons sketchbooks do just that. I love the ten inch square format- it gives me much more freedom than A5 sketchbooks that seem to be so widely available. The book is sturdy and well made- the pages are bright white with a slight tooth ( which I really like- not as slick as moleskine)- and it stays pretty close to completely flat when opened. So far the paper has been great with pens, brush markers, and watercolor that I typically use. The paper buckles slightly with the watercolor and only slight ghosting is visible with the brush markers. The company was very kind and prompt when I asked questions about them sticking their watercolor sketchbooks on Amazon- we might be seeing those soon! I ordered their A3 sketchbook and it arrives today along with the starter staples A4 sketchbooks- so excited. Im thrilled about the A3 size and hope that they stock the case bound book soon too! Im already a big fan. I will try to post pictures that show how the paper performs.
