Its a rod what can you say. It was perfect for the application and shipping and delivery time was great!

The picture is of my second order. The first order was only bent in the middle. Both of the orders came in a bag which obviously was not adequate to protect the rods from the mail system. I will try again and see if the third Tim is the charm.

The rod I thought would be good but it must’ve been flimsy as it was completely bent and it’s hard and bendy not sure if it’s supposed to be like that

I knew I would need to bend this, and was worried it might not bend well. I saw indications that is should be bendable, so I got it... and sure enough, it was! Plus, it kept its rigidity in the process, which was also important to me. I found this to be of high quality aluminum stock, and it performed exactly as I needed it to, at a reasonable price!

needed a smooth straight rod for my sewing thread to roll off. this did the trick!

This rod is sold as 1/4 in diameter, it actually measure .256 which is 6/1000 over 1/4 inch. I wanted to use a section of this rod to reduce the shaft size of a 1/4 in knob. The rod will not fit into the 1/4 inch knob. I can fix this by turning the rod in my lathe.

Why is it that when I type in 5/16 drill rod, I end up with 5/16 aluminum rod? This isnt the only product that shows up wrong when I type in specific search parameters. If I wanted Aluminum, I would have searched for aluminum. Aluminum is NOT drill rod material. Its not worth returning and not worth arguing over. I guess ill just have to learn to NOT trust the Amazon search results.

I use these in the construction of aluminum wind chimes.
