> 3 dayThis is a compact and easy to use tool. I use Klien tools for most of my professional work and they always work well and never disappoint me. I got this at a bargain price and it is outstanding, accurate, and very useful!

Greater than one weekI used Fluke for years and loved them but wasnt excited about the price tag. These are well made and have the features of meters several times the price. The additional price for the CL800 is small and worth the extra features that I dont use often (such as K-type temp). The LED light should have been brighter and should have its own switch (it is the same switch for the back-light). The magnet attachment is great as well but is not included. The leads are the weak point of the meter. I prefer extra rugged leads and foresee replacing them a couple times a year. All that being said, I am extremely rough on tools/equipment and I think this one is going to hold up for many years.

> 3 dayDC hall effect current mode is unreliable. Difficult to get to and needs constant resets to -0-. Move the meter around - you need to reset it again. Leave it alone for a while (minutes) - you need to reset it again. Just by switching from AC to DC mode I get 1 amp reading with nothing in the clamp.

Greater than one weekVery straight forward multi meter ....... Good quality, very accurate. In my opinion, this is an excellent meter and it has become my go to tool ...... the more expensive Fl$$e does not seem to be as sturdy and it has been delighted to the truck tool box!

> 3 dayIf you are experienced in using a clamp meter then you know you must use a wire splitter to measure AC current. If you are not, and you intend to measure AC current on a line cord then the buy a wire splitter accessory.

> 3 dayI really wanted to like the CL800. It has all the features that I need like AC and DC amps, capacitance, etc., features most meters in this price range do not have. I own two of these meters now and both have the exact same flaws. The first flaw which is mostly a nuisance is that the meters are easily turned on by accident even when inside the protective case. Not a huge issue since they turn off automatically after a period of time to save the batteries. The second more serious flaw is that if the leads wiggle out even the slightest, the meter will not read properly. There have been several times my meter showed 0 volts but the line was actually hot. After checking the leads, I find they have wiggled out slightly (1/32 -1/16 or less). I am constantly pushing the lead plugs in because I am paranoid about it. I dont like a meter I cant trust and I have 2 of them. Both my CL800 meters do the exact same thing. Since they are both just slightly over 2 years old, Klein wont help. This isnt the first disappointment I have had with Klein diagnostic tools. They seem to last just about as long as the warranty period. I own quite a few Klein tools but I think we are done.

29-11-2024I like what is can do, but I didnt like the auto ranging. Scale kept jumping around and rescaling. I turned it off. Then the light button is hidden under the lead clip. Why did they put it there? When using the lead clip, its hard to see the screen. I bought it to read DC amps on cars and boats. this it does.

> 3 dayThis is a great meter. Bought this as a relacement while all my fluke meters were sent out to get calibrated. I honestly am kicking myself for not getting this first. But then again I would have never known HOW good this meter was if it wasnt for my fluke meters. I LOVE MY FLUKE METERS, but man, these are amazing meters, especially at the price point. Does everything I need it to, with accurate readings that are the same as my meters before they got sent out for yearly, I say yearly because my company requires it, not that it needs it honestly.
