RESEARCHBEFOREBUYING
Greater than one weekThis is a pro-level meter without the pro-level price. I bought for general home/automotive use & specifically, to diagnose my residential HVAC system. I was able to accurately meter Compressor Inrush (Max) AMPS, Line voltages, capacitors MicroFarad values, etc. This meter enabled me to install a CPS 5-2-1 Hard Start Kit in my HVACs condenser unit, which I hope will extend the life of my HVAC system. For less than the cost of a single HVAC tech service visit, I bought the CL800 Clamp Meter + the parts for my HVAC & did the work myself. Now, I have a versatile clamp meter in my arsenal for all other home/auto/marine projects. I got the CL800 because it can measure DC Current, as well as AC Current, plus it has an auto-off feature. If you dont need these two features, get the next model down, save $, be just as happy. Highly recommend.

> 3 dayBe aware this meter came with a case so dont buy another as recommended by Amazon... it would be good if the seller would state that a case is included.

> 3 dayNice Meter with some great functions!! Bought to upgrade because it reads a higher amperage on the clamp function. Has other nice features also that makes it as nice as the comparable $300 Fluke. Dont forget to purchase the Magnetic Holder to go with it!!

> 3 daySo I went through three of these. They look good from the outside with the features they have but that did not end up being the problem. The first one had a piece of plastic under the screen so I returned it, not a big deal. the next had the type k temp reading was way off by like 18 degrees on average or something I tested it against other thermometers in boiling water and crushed ice water. the third one I had for several months and it slowly developed problems. Temp reads off, shuts off when it gets bumped, true RMS is definitely questionable when compared to an analog amp clamp mostly measuring very low amps for gear motors (Amprobe RS‑3 PRO Analog Clamp On Meter, incredible meter), lastly it started reading continuity constantly with or without leads in the meter. Absolute trash if you are trying to get professional work done, it ended up being very embarrassing or me. Never again.

> 3 dayGood meter and fairly accurate so far. I will admit to being a Fluke fan because of my life time use in the Navy and personal life. Every other cheap meter I have ever used had let me down.

> 3 dayThis is unacceptable! What a waste of money. It was purchased in February and is already not working properly. If I had known that buying thru amazon warranty voided Kleins warranty - I would NEVER have purchased through Amazon!

> 3 dayMany clamp meters provide AC amp readings, but in solar proects you also need DC amp reading. This meter does it all. Solidly built, Klein quality, with all the settings needed for AC and DC projects. Recommended!
