Needed to check temps on griddle, works like a charm

I work in the HVAC field and use this many many times a week. I’ve tested this with 2 co-workers guns and mine reads 4degrees low, usually this would be a deal breaker but I honestly use it to find a 20 degree split. As long as I use my gun and my numbers it still works. Laser is good quality and is a decent option for the price. 7/10

The product said it used AA batteries. It does not. Its uses 9 volt. I was a little disappointed in that. Since we keep slot of AA batteries around and not 9 volts.

This is very easy to use compared to my other one. This one is point and click and you get the temp and the laser pointer. My other one you have to turn on the laser pointer and select Fahrenheit or Celsius. The added plus is that it does not have that soft black plastic that will turn sticky in a few years like my other one.

My child was sick recently with a fever and thought to use this in a pinch. It did get a temp reading but think it was off a few degrees. We ordered one with many high reviews which is meant to accurately measure forehead temps and in comparison the Klein was reading on the lower end. It works well for within 95% accuracy but for accurate temps for fevers go with different option. Again I know this isn’t for humans or precise measurements but figured a Klein product would be right on the money. On a side note it does work well for monitoring bath temps and jacuzzi temps! For the mechanics it gives solid readouts on wheel bearing temps, brake temps, etc for simple diagnosis

Great way to keep a check on farm equipment operating temperatures too. Wheel hubs, transmissions, final drives and implement gear boxes can be verified as running proper. Same for motors, compressors and electrical equipment. Bought it to use on a grilling salt block, but keep on finding uses. Some complaints of a 5 degree or so variance, but for most applications, negligible.

bought this in good part because the description states AA batteries. It actually takes a 9V. I just dont keep those around. will be going back to amazon.

I have bias for Klein tools. Overall it seems to be a quality item but not a scientific instrument. As an electrician, I will use it to check for hotspots in electrical equipment.
