Well, a thermometer that does not measure the temperature correctly is not very useful. Sending it back. I thought Klein was a reliable manufacturer, but in this case, they are peddling junk.

I use the IR thermometer to check grill surface temperature. I also used it to diagnose a catalytic converter issue on my truck.

Maybe I just dont know how to use it properly, but it seems to fluctuate randomly, and when you can get a consistent read, it doesnt seem accurate (usually at least 10 degrees higher than expected). It doesnt seem to work well at all when measuring anything translucent, either. like, say, cooking oil, or ice.

Our office have had problems with A/C. Im not sure how accurate it is because I dont have anything else to compare.

I typically really like Klein products but this should be in the sub $20 category for what you get and the other quality name brands out there (like Inkbird for one) that do more.

Purchased as a gift. The recipient received the unit with a dead battery and therefore unusable as is upon receipt. Must have been really old stock. Disappointed and embarrassed to give as a gift.

I find it easy to use and read. Accurate enough and fun to play with. It only took about 5 minutes for me to know the temperature of every surface in my kitchen.
