Klein Tools NCVT3P Dual Range Non Contact Voltage Tester, 12 - 1000V AC Pen, Flashlight, Audible and Flashing LED Alarms, Pocket Clip, Green

I purchased this and threw out the packaging, since it was top brand name, and it worked with a few simple tasks around the shop. At the job though, it would not read the line voltage on low voltage landscape wires, not even the fixture wires which are smallar and less insulation than the feeder lines. Maybe voltage is little lower at the jobsite, maybe 11 volts and that is maybe why. I know it says 12V and up, but cant do landscpae lights at 11V?

Ive had 2 of these and they give me false positives all of the time, even on the 70-1000V range. I just cant trust it.

replaced this item once and get the same item from the seller. Problem is it doesnt make audible sound when touching the live voltage it only show red light. but i am keeping this product now and not replacing again because i need it urgently because my project has already started. seller should change the description on amazon.

This Klein NCVT3P Non Contact tester works really well. IT has two ranges which comes in handy. The biuld in flashlight is a nice added feature.

This is a much better model than my last one better design for holding the battery in place works well i have found the light on it to be a lot more helpful than I thought.

Does what it is supposed to do and does it quite well.

I had a new different model Klein that mustve been defective, therefore I was hesitant on buying another Klein. I read on several websites that this is among the top 5 most reliable. There is one trick to it though. If you want a red light only, you have to hold the power button for a few seconds. If you want the beep and a light, you touch the power button for less than a second. This item is durable and works great!

Pretty basic, light not too bright but this is a small device. On one electrical line gave a false positive when set to most sensitive setting but better than a false negative and getting myself shocked.
