This tool is NOT a substitute for a dead circuit! ALWAYS use the breaker at your electrical panel for the circuit that you are working on before exposing wires. Once you think you have a dead circuit, use this tool to verify that no voltage is moving through the wires you plan to work with. Yes, a multi-meter is the definite device to ensure a circuit is in fact dead, but this tool is the next best thing. Remember that 120 volts/20-30 amps is enough to kill you, so take no chances.

Does the job. Personally my favorite contactless tester out of the rest. I personally like the flashlight and beeps when it detects a voltage. I’m an electrician and use this on a daily basis.

Typical Klein product--well made, reliable, easy to use, worth the money. The flashlight feature is nice and plenty bright for close work. This is a good buy for pros and diyers alike.

After 30 years of using multi meters and plug in circuit testers, I treated myself to this and its great for me. It is handier because I can clip it to my pocket or inside my collar for quick testing. Two sensitivity ratings as you need them and a flashlight for dim areas. Whats not to love?
