Klein Tools VDV526-100 Network LAN Cable Tester, VDV Tester, LAN Explorer with Remote

I bought this to test all of the network wires I ran during our basement remodel. Super easy to use.

Does exactly what it says. You can test wall wiring and wired ports if you use a known good cable to give you male ends on both sides. Saved a ton of headache as we had a couple ports miswired in a new building. Knew exactly which ones were bad before we plugged anything in.

It does what it is supposed to. Light but feels durable. Decent battery life if used a lot.

I have to replace my old one, cheap trash that broke, hope this one lives longer

This tool helped me find a shorted CAT 5 cable within minutes. Easy to use and did what I needed it to. Very handy to keep around.

Not much to add except that this works very well. I like the remote tucks into the bottom so I cant lose it. With the indications, it makes testing a breeze.

I had been working with Customer Service for a new expensive Desktop Computer that I received and they could not help me connect it to the internet. It turned out that every new RJ45 Cable that came with the new Computer was bad. I went through a box of my old cables and found two good ones using this Tester. It took longer to open the plastic covering the Tester than to find my problem! For 2 days my Desktop Computer was inop due to bad RJ45 cables! Buy the Tester!

Good tool fir the price

I really like this tester. Used the remote end on some long CAT6 runs in my house that were pre installed and worked perfectly. Recommend for anyone building their own ethernet cables.
