> 24 hourIm updating my audio system and went looking for a good subwoofer. Klipsch will not disappoint and this compliments my other Klipsch Heresy speakers. The bass is tight and I like it deep without distorting. The volume control works well and deep enough with the dial at 2 oclock position. The crossover is at the minimum which is fine. I do get polite bass from the Heresys but the subwoofer is an absolute necessity with the 5.1 system. So if you invested in a good system, dont cheap it out with an inexpensive subwoofer. Get the Klipsch and you wont need to hunt for a replacement a few years from now. You and your ears will be happy. (OK, maybe not your downstairs neighbors).

> 24 hourI recently got a new turntable and with that came purchasing all the required equipment. Unfortunately, bookshelf speakers lack nice bottom end sounds. So to complete my system setup, I opted for not cheapest, but not the most expensive subwoofer for it. The reviews were mostly positive, but a few negative, but price point was where I felt comfortable. The thing is a beast and heavy. It took about ½ hour to adjust the levels to where I felt was great. And now, it has taken my system to a whole other level. The addition of the subwoofer via the dedicated sub-out line on the receiver, really brings the sound to life from being muzzled in the bookshelf speakers. It is a lot of rumble and bass. Like I said, it does take a few minutes to adjust to how you like it and how to get the bottom end as desired, but it will sound great. I have no regrets on this purchase. I would recommend for those on the fence about a subwoofer but don’t want to skimp on quality/sound…yet don’t know about spending more than $400 on one. For just over $200, this one is a great buy.

> 24 hourI had recently bought the powered bookshelf pair with USB for my computer, and while those generally sounded pretty solid, what can I say, I wanted to fill out the low end. This guy under my desk does exactly that. Its absolutely overkill, but Ive learned that with subwoofers youre better off having more than not enough.

> 24 hourThis subwoofer offers a lot of bass for the money. I had to set the volume to 10 oclock and it still output a lot of bass with deep rumble. I didnt like the kind of bass it puts out though. The frequencies seem distorted, which makes it unconnected to the main speakers. It is almost like there is always a deeper background that overwhelms other frequencies. The sounds becomes muddy and dispersed. I would not recommend this for music. For movies, maybe yes, special effects benefits from those deep rumbles.
