I bought this case along with a 4TB Seagate Backup Plus external hard drive. AFTER I ordered the case, I came across a number of negative reviews suggesting the case would not fit this particular hard drive without removing the inner padding--and this concerned me as I had ordered the case as Amazon had suggested it while I was ordering the drive. Upon receiving both items, however, I was very pleased with how they worked together. The drive is certainly snug within the case and it fits in a way that doesnt allow inner padding insert to fully extend, but Im able to fit the drive and its cable comfortably inside, and the tightness of the fit seems to make everything even more secure. Honestly, I dont use the case that much because I rarely travel with the case. During the handful of times Ive used the case, Ive dropped the drive once--and everything was A-OK. Id imagine this case would protect the case against most non-extreme drops--the rubbery outside provides considerable protection. Overall, I think this case is a great value.

This hard case does an excellent job of storing and protecting my Seagate 2TB external hard drive and its USB cord. I noticed when I opened the case for the first time that it also comes with a small carabiner and a short lanyard, which I assume is for the small leather loop on the back of the case for portable use. The extra padded flap that goes over your strapped in hard drive is nice because it prevents whatever youre going to store in the mesh pocket on the other side from scratching the hard drive, however I will note that it will make your case feel suddenly super full once your hard drive is in. But in reality you have no troubles zipping the hard leather case up and you still have room to store plenty more things in the pockets the case provides for you. It might appear as if its a snug fit but its actually quite roomy.
