The bags are great in the freezer and I haven’t had any leaks. My only issue is that the amount of milk in the bag is not equivalent to the milk in the bottle.

Bought this item and it lasted throughout my pumping journey for nearly three months. Good value for money. Bags easily storable and usable.

I’m not actually crying, but I am so disappointed that I felt compelled to write a review. Let me give some context to preface my review. This is my second child, and my second time using these bags. I have used both the 4 oz and 6 oz bags. I’m an over producer and work full time and have used TONS of these bags. Pros: they lay flat and are compact which allows you to store a larger volume in a smaller amount of space. They have changed the design so that you can now pump directly into the bag with most standard pumps, this is new since my second child. Cons: Mine are leaking. Not every bag, but I am having a serious issue that milk is leaking from the top right corner of the seal. This is an obvious issue because now I am concerned about the integrity of the bag. When I first noticed it, I attributed it to pumping directly into the bags and inferred it was due to stretching them in order for my pump to fit. However I have stopped pumping directly into the bags and am still noticing that approximately 1/5 bags will leak. As a result I now turn every single bag upside down (after pouring the milk in and sealing it) to confirm that it doesn’t leak before I freeze it. I just had another defective bag tonight and had to transfer the milk from one defective bag into another, during this process I lost about 2 ounces of my liquid gold. Not actually crying but I’m SO frustrated. It’s hard enough pumping at all hours all the time; I don’t want to deal with leaking bags too. This brings me to my other con, there really is no easy way to get the milk out of the bag without making a mess or losing some milk. For this reason I am considering going back to the Kiinde bags, although these take up SO much freezer space. Overall, I’m on the fence about whether or not I would recommend these. I cannot confirm if mine was a defective batch or if a certain percentage of all of their bags will leak like this. If you do buy them, make sure you turn them upside down and check. I’d really hate to give my baby milk that has been contaminated with bacteria because the integrity of the seal is defective.

These work! Zipper works great and if you follow directions for freezing breast milk you won’t have any issue with bags busting. I tried generic options and always came back to these. I used a medala pump and still preferred these.

Ive used 200+ of these bags and the majority of the time, they work great, but sometimes they leak. I never fill them over 4.5-5 oz. It just sucks to see breastmilk wasted. Luckily, my baby is a little older now so gets some solids, but in the early days, a leaked bag was devastating. Ive also used over 200 Medela brand bags and never had a leak with those. Just sayin

I have used these bags multiple times over several years and 3 babies. I like the feel of the bag and its Lightweight. Unfortunately, half of my pack of bags had to be thrown out after putting milk in them. It looks like the seal on the bag near the double zipper never sealed correctly in production. You dont find that out until you get the air out and zip it closed then lay it flat for freezer storage.

I purchased these bags after I ran out of the Medela storage bags that came with the Medela pump starter kit. As always, I did my diligence and researched what customers were saying on Amazon. I had used the Medela bags but wanted to make sure that as I continued to build up my milk bank, the liquid gold that I pumped would be kept safe and I could store it no problem. Here are the differences in the 2 brands: 1. Yes, the Lansinoh bags are thinner than Medela storage bags. However, this more light weight bag actually helps the bags maintain a more flat shape than the Medela bags. For first time moms who are early on in their milk banking like I was, this may not be a huge concern at first . However, when you have over 50 bags in the freezer, you will want the bags to freeze super flat so that you can stash them in the freezer vertically like I do in the ice tray (since im in the freezer drawer daily, I lay my freshly pumped milk on top of a flat surface usually a mochi ice cream box and when I have to add another bag, I move this now frozen flat bag to the vertical storage position and lay another bag on top of the mochi box to freeze flat). Also, although the material appears to be more lightweight than Medela (another reviewer called it flimsy), I am not worried that the bag will rupture. i make sure to leave enough room in the bags for the milk to expand when freezing and have yet to find a gaping hole in the side of the bag or at one of the seams... 2. For the moms who want to pour the milk into the bags AND want a bag that acts as a self-standing container, sorry to say that neither Lansinoh nor Medela fit the bill. Although Medela bags are better at standing, I dont trust it nor Lansinoh and find that I would be a fool if I tried to pour the milk without holding the bag with my other hand. It is a bag after all and pouring liquid into a soft-sided container is a two-handed job. I did try to use a mug one time to see if that would help but realized that I was just dirtying another dish that I didnt have time to wash and should just stick to pouring milk from the bottle using one hand and holding the bag with the other. Also, I think that the Medela bag design which allows it to stand a little bit better than Lansinoh is the same feature that prevents the bag from lying as flat as the Lansinoh bag. 3. I like the Lansinoh closure zippers over the Medela closures for two reasons: 1) the Lansinoh bags have 2 zippers so if the first one fails, the second one will keep your milk safe; and 2) I never knew when I was closing the Medela bags if the zipper actually sealed and sometimes had to press the closure against the counter to make sure it was closed and then flip over each bag to make sure milk did not drip through, giving me further peace of mind. When I read other reviews about the standing up feature and the zippers, I thought what do you expect from a plastic bag but have to say that while the standing feature still doesnt matter to me, the zipper issue and the laying flat feature really make a difference having tried the 2 different brands. Ill provide an update once I start thawing the milk to let you know how each bag holds up.

I recently switched from Medela milk storage bags to Lansinoh bags, based on online reviews and recommendations from friends. Many of the Medela reviews said the bags gave the milk a plastic smell, strong enough that some babies were even refusing the milk. My baby has generally taken the Medela milk, although there was one time when she was not happy with the milk (but her fussiness could also have been reflux or gas, its hard to tell - I didnt think about it being the taste of the milk until I read these reviews and realized that was one of the few times Id fed her frozen milk and also one of the few times shes been fussy while eating). However, this made me nervous about the quality of the frozen milk. The main complaint I saw with the Lansinoh bags was that they seemed flimsy and dont stand up. They are definitely not designed to stand up the way the Medela bags are, but this actually makes them MUCH easier to store in the freezer, which is a big part of the reason I will stick with them. My frozen milk stock has gotten big (Im saving up for when I go back to work), and the Medela bags were falling all over the place because they wont stay stacked on top of each other. I cant freeze them standing up because I will run out of space very quickly that way, and they dont freeze flat lying down so that they slide all over each other when the stack gets big. I ended up having to put them into bigger bags in the freezer. The Lansinoh bags freeze flat and stack easily on top of each other, so I will be able to store more of them and without so much frustration. It doesnt bother me that these bags dont hook up to the pump like the Medela ones do. I pump into bottles and pour into bags anyway, to make sure I am getting an accurate read of the amount Im storing, and to store the exact quantity I want. With either bag, I would recommend pumping into a bottle and pouring, because markings on a bag wont be fully accurate no matter how good the bag is, since the sides are flexible. I also like that the Lansinoh bag has space for the name, time, and amount on the bag in addition to the date. I was writing this information on the Medela bags but running out of space for it all. The designated space for this information on the Lansinoh bags is also good for new mothers, who may not know to include all this - it took me about 25 bags before I realized I should be writing the amount and time on the bags. The markings for amounts are not accurate on either bag, and once they freeze you cant read the markings anyway (the milk moves). The Lansinoh bags have a double-seal zipper, which helps prevent leaks and seals the milk better. Lastly, I feel much more confident that these bags are sanitized for my baby. The Medela bags dont say anything about the bags being pre-sanitized. They give directions on sanitizing the adaptors but not the bags, so I assume the bags are sanitized, but it doesnt specifically say it. The Lansinoh bags SAY theyre sanitized, AND they have a tear-off seal at the top of each bag so you KNOW its sanitized when you open it. For neurotic moms like me, thats what I need for peace of mind.
