It was very easy to assemble -- just three parts, two legs and the base -- and, best of all, it is adjustable, which explains how it can hold such a wide range laptops. My laptop is 15 inches across the bottom and 10 inches front-to-back; this stand, set on its widest options holds it safely and firmly. There is no wobbling or feeling that it will topple off the stand when I open the laptop. I especially like the open front of the stand, which is one of the main reasons I chose this style, because it allows me to use the room beneath my computer, something I couldnt do with the other stand I had that opened in the back. I just got this yesterday, but I am now wishing that I purchased it years ago.
