Nest step puzzles above the wood/peg type for preschoolers. One puzzle has 2 pieces to get the child started and give them confidence. Next puzzle has 3 pieces, next has 4 pieces building the difficulty. Great learning puzzles.

Great puzzles! As you can read, the box consists of 4 puzzles: - the turtle, made of 2 pieces - the fish, made of 4 pieces - the octopus, made of 6 pieces - the whole scene, made of 8 pieces On the back of each piece it is written the number of the puzzle, it is part of. For example 8, so that piece belong to the whole scene made of 8 pieces, or 4 so you know that that pieces is a part of the fish puzzle. It is actually useful to distinguish pieces from puzzle 6 from puzzle 8. My daughter (3 years old) can easily make all the puzzles up to 6, sometimes she needs some help with the 8 piece puzzle though. The quality is great and the design is cute. To be honest, I would have preferred having the whole scene different from the other three (so that it does not include the other three designs in it) because I think it could have been more interesting..but my daughter likes it and thats what matters. It is definitely good for either boys or girls.

Our 2 1/2 year old nephew absolutely loved this puzzle set! The pressed cardboard and laminated top pieces are thick, easy to hold and are very colorful and cheerful with clear graphics. A well-made product! I especially liked that it had 2, 4, 6 and 8 piece puzzles to help build on concepts. The backside has well marked numbers to separate each puzzle too, making it easy to sort. Im very pleased with the quality of this companys product and would recommend this starter puzzle set to anyone looking for a great toddler gift.

Great for beginners. My 3 year old loves these. I love it that it has four puzzles - 1 with 2 pieces, 1 with 4 pieces, 1 with 6 pieces, and 1 with 8 pieces. My toddler would start with the smallest one and progress on to the 8-piece one. I also have one for dinosaurs and one with farm animals. Its great introduction of puzzles when the child progresses from the wooden baby ones to real puzzles. The only reason I took away one star is because there are four separate puzzles but they all go in the box together. There are no dividers in the box. Its not a huge problem, I just put the pieces from the different puzzles in 4 zip-lock bags and put them into the box. So theres an easy solution, but in order for me to give it 5 stars, the box should have come with dividers to keep the pieces of the four puzzles separate.

I didnt realize that the 4 puzzles were different sizes (2 piece, 4 piece, 6 piece, and 8 piece). I wish they were all 4-piece. So the 6-piece 8-piece are too advanced for my little one, but they are sturdy and provide room for growth. I have some other Learning Journey puzzles and I really like the brand.

Perfect for a 2 year old

I bought two of these for my sons. They are bright, colorful, and relatively easy for an almost 3 year old and 18 month old to piece together. I would definitely buy again. The only down side is that all of the pieces are in the same box, jumbled together. There are, however, numbers on the back of the puzzle pieces that tell you state how many pieces belong with the particular puzzle piece. (both of the pieces to the 2 piece puzzle have 2 on the back, all of the pieces for the 4 piece puzzle have 4 on them.)

I gave this puzzle to my girlfriends three year old grandson, he loves it, he was putting it together all by himself and I think it’s a good learning toy. She said he plays with it a lot.
