LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V 92176 Outer Space Model Rocket for Kids and Adults, Science Building Kit (1969 Pieces)

Im an old space nut from way back. I am old enough to still vividly remember the Apollo moon missions and when I saw this, I knew I had to have it. Up to this time the only other real option for me was the Revel set that required gluing and painting. Didnt have the patience to do a project like that and when I saw this one, I went oh yeah, I can do this. Got this one and off I went. Took me quite a bit longer to build this than the youtubers did it but I got it done. A lot of satisfaction for me to both build it and have it displayed to enjoy looking at. The set is pretty detailed and stages come apart when wanting to simulate a mission with the exception of the service module/lunar lander/apollo command module. That could have been done a little better for people who want to simulate a mission in addition to just having it to display. All in all, a very nice good looking build with a good price.

This is an absolutely amazing set of legos. The stages of the rocket comes apart just how the real Saturn V would. Took my son several days to put it all together and kept him super interested in the history of the rocket That being said, it was missing 3 pieces and had an erroneous piece The manual has an overall parts list which is super helpful (but could be more helpful if it was separated by chapter/bag of parts, rather than entire set Early in the build my son complained he didn’t have a piece he needed. I know Lego is pretty strict so I figured he dropped or misplaced a piece. But that was when I was able to tell the remaining piece he had wasn’t even a part used in the entire assembly…period. Luckily the extra piece was a structural component that was oversized so when I was confident the part wasn’t correct, I cut a section off of it and was able to continue building Two other bags were missing a piece (which I was able to salvage from my sons other generic Lego sets) I was really surprised at the lack of quality control on this set. First time I’ve ever seen it

Had a great time building this model. Took me back to my younger years playing with Legos! Only one small issue (not sure if anyone else has experienced this) - The second and third stages don’t connect well and the side panels push out which doesn’t leave the end product looking very smooth. Minor issue but otherwise awesome product!

This set is INCREDIBLE! Totally recommend to anyone who is even vaguely interested. Im 52 years old and it totally brought out the 10 year old in me. Total build time was about 8 hours, 6 beers, 2 gin & tonics, and I took my time with it over a few days. The first stage is the most time consuming. It was just fascinating how it all came together in the end. Now I want to take it apart and do it all over again. Next purchases will be the Vonado umbilical tower, and lighting kit.

This is the best Lego set I’ve ever seen. Got it for my 6 year old, who needed a good bit of help putting it together. It’s a little fragile, but not terribly so. The few times we thought we were short pieces, it turns out we had assembled something wrong - it was all there with a few spares for the tiny bits. Has very unique construction techniques throughout.

Just finished building this last night in a 5 hour cream soda and twizzler building binge. Its LEGO. Good quality, the design makes sense and it was a lot of fun. It is to scale, so if youre expecting to play with the mini-figs, prepare to be disappointed. They are about a 1/4 inch high. The finished set is very tall (or long depending on how you choose to display), unless you choose to display as separate booster units. Instructions were easy to understand, and the booklet is the size of a magazine and contains some really great supplementary material about the Apollo mission, pictures, and information about the process of design and build of both the real thing and the lego version. Worth the money. As it has already sold out from LEGO once, buy now to ensure you dont lose access to such a unique set.... these types of sets always go up in value.

Awsome lego set, my kids loved it, tons and tons of fun. $100 is cheap for such a big lego set. Box isnt damiged at all, only the instructrons can be a little bit confusinng for young age.

Instructions are easy to follow and build step-by-step but you have to take you time and stay really organized and double-check each assembly as you build to ensure you did it right. 12 bags in all. Though still a work-in-process for me, I look forward to each time I work on it. Great gift for anyone who has an interest in the Apollo missions, and I watched almost every launch back in the day so you can imagine how thrilled I was to receive this gift for my birthday. Each piece is of high quality and fits perfectly together. All the flags and lettering is molded into the plastic. No stickers !!! Bravo Lego !! Finally finished and added 2 more photos. Be careful when you build it! Double-check yourself each step to ensure you assembled it correctly. I made a couple of errors which didnt surface till later and had to do a little rework, but even that went well. I used a dental pick to pull just the bricks-off needed.

This is worth EVERY PENNY! The build process was an absolute blast (took me 5 hours with adult and child assistants) and the end result is just stunning. It looks like a full-blown model from a distance, but up close there are a ton of tiny details to marvel at. As other reviewers have pointed out, this is a BIG set; I will have to think hard about where to put this one meter tall build.

So, like many people reviewing this product, I used to play a lot with Legos and when I saw this product for a flash sale quite some time ago for half off, I had to buy it. Needless to say, my childhood dreams of owning and building a pretty large Lego set was fulfilled. Its an amazing set for anyone that is looking to relive their childhood and its massive enough to be a wonderful conversation starter.
