> 3 dayThis was for my nephew’s 7th birthday. He wasn’t very excited at first, Molten Man stole the show. However, my adult brother had an awesome time building it. He said it was fairly challenging considering and my nephew “needed help”. It’s very likely he just wanted in on the building action. Once built my nephew was super excited and really enjoys the scene and using his LEGO to play out various scenes. Overall very happy with the value and how much my family has enjoyed it.

> 3 dayThis is a fun LEGO set for fans of Spider-Man. Once assembled it can be used for imaginative play in that story world. Would be fun to use alongside other Spider-Man sets. However, it is not an open-ended building set like some of the LEGO sets are.

Greater than one weekIve been a Spider-Man fan since I was a kid, so the new movies have been incredible for me. And, of course, having my favorite web-slinger in LEGO form is a dream come true! This set doesnt disappoint by any measure, and is actually one of my favorite sets of any theme this year! First, I think that this set is an amazing value. Sometimes, after building a LEGO set, you can look back at it and wonder why it cost as much as it did. That is definitely not the case here. At 471 parts, it already beats the average price-per-part ratio, but LEGO really excelled on making this one feel substantial even so. They really put those extra parts to good use! There are also 4 minifigures included, which is great for any set at this price point. As a value for money, this is a very good set. Next, the build is actually kind of fun, although not particularly challenging. I think that there are a couple of parts that may be harder for some of the youngest builders, but the set is targeted at 7+, which I think is pretty appropriate. The design is of a bridge and cafe, apparently set in Venice, along with a gondola and a build for Hydro-Mans water effect. The water effect is actually really cool, I like the blend of different shades of blue and the curved elements to give it a fluid feel. The rest of the build has fun blast away features to simulate attacks, a cool design for a tower, and what is my favorite LEGO design in years - A PERFECT LEGO ESPRESSO MACHINE! Its pictured on the box, but I hadnt noticed it until I was building it, and when I realized what I was building, I couldnt stop smiling. It really looks so perfect! As to parts included, the only really unique thing is the collection of web effects, which is new for this years Spider-Man line. There are a couple of parts in new colors, but no really new parts. There are, however, a number of rather rare parts included. The trans dark blue slope of Hydro Mans water effect is only in 4 other sets, and there are 13 here! There are a couple of sand green wedges that are only in 2 other sets, and there are tan arch corners that were just introduced in the massive Hogwarts Castle, so this is a much cheaper way to get those! There are also a great selection of rare colors like dark azure and medium dark flesh. And of course, there are the minifigures. Hydro-Man is a nice inclusion that I never would have thought Id see in LEGO form, being a pretty minor villain from the comics. Mysterio, however, is the major highlight! Finally, were one step closer to all of the Sinister Six! Being a fan of the comics forever, Id still like to see a LEGO version styled after his original costume, since this one is obviously how he appears in the movie, but nonetheless, its fantastic. The flat silver head underneath the clear fishbowl helmet gives a brilliant effect, and really feels like Mysterio! I love it so much! Hes so amazing, you could almost forget that Peter Parker and MJ are included in the set too! There isnt a full Spider-Man costume in this set, just a hat of sorts, to represent Peter having the mask pulled up exposing his face. MJ is a brilliant minifigure in her own right as well. All winners as far as Im concerned. I love this set so much. I truly think its my favorite set yet this year. It displays really well, it has great play features, and amazing minifigures. You really couldnt ask for any more!

> 3 dayThis is a fantastic set. Ive bought two for myself (one to display, one for parts), one for my son (6), and one for my nephew (5), and its been a major hit with all of us. If youre a fan of the latest Spider-Man movie, it recreates the scene of Hydro-Mans attack in Venice and includes minifigs of the villain plus characters Mysterio, Peter Parker, and MJ. If youre *not* a fan, the bridge and cafe are still a beautiful build, the set comes with a good variety of pieces for reuse (& pizza, a rat, a jewel, & more), and Peter and MJ in particular offer some great minifig parts to add to your collection (MJ was one of the reasons I first picked up the set--yay for more female fig skin tone variety!). Ive been able to snag this set on sale every time (one day it was half off!) and its a steal at a reduced price. One of the most fun sets Ive picked up this year!
