Link (Rider) amiibo - The Legend OF Zelda: Breath of the Wild Collection (Nintendo Wii U/Nintendo 3DS/Nintendo Switch)

There was not a lot of information in the listing on what this amiibo actually did. One of the lines in the listing says Made for Play! Discover New Characters, Explore New Game Modes, and So Much More; so I had thought you could maybe become the guardian or maybe it would spawn guardians. I had read somewhere that the cards (also offered on Amazon) did the same thing as this amiibo, so I purchased those first for less than half the price of this amiibo. The wolf-Link card does spawn a Wolf-Link with 20 hearts that will help you fight in your travels. I believe that Wolf-Link amiibo spawns with only 3 hearts. It also had a card that has spawned Epona (the horse) twice for me. All of the other cards drop chests with weapons, armor, shields, gems, along with food items and rupees. The Guardian card drops a chest and 3 boxes that have to be broken open all with ancient items - usually screws, gears, etc. I purchased this Guardian amiibo with the hopes that perhaps it did more than the card - nope. It drops a chest and 3 boxes. I can use the this Guardian amiibo on the same day as I use the cards (you can use each amiibo/card once a day) accept for the Wolf-Link which you can re-spawn unless he dies; then you have to wait until the following day. I am on the fence about keeping the Guardian Amiibo. I dont really feel like he is worth the price. My 11 year old son however, loves his detail and articulating legs. Its kind of expensive for a toy. If you are looking for functionality - I would go with the NFC cards offered here on Amazon. You end up with like 20 cards for less than half the price and they work just like the amiibos listed here.

NOT FOR IN-BOX COLLECTORS. The packaging arrived mangled but luckily the amiibo were fine. Yes boxes can get damaged in transit. But if you package the contents with SOME protection, at least it is likelier that it will not show up like it was kicked around.

I like this amiibo pack because I wanted to use them for Breath of the Wild and get exclusive gear from there.

I had some initial trepidation ordering overseas from Yachew LTD in the UK but it worked out great. I ordered on Feb. 18th and the shipment via the Royal Mail and the U.S. Mail was predicted only to arrive March 8th to 18th, but Link, the Archer, from BOTW arrived today February 28. Got excellent presales support and a great price compared to what others ask for same Amiibo figure of Link from BOTW. I have a Guardian Amiibo and a 4-pk of the four Champions - the level of detail on those is great and so is that of Link, removing any uncertainty I had as to whether I really wanted to acquire Link. My only complaint is that his face is narrower and smaller than he appears to me in Switch video. To open the package without damaging the casing too much, I recommend carefully slitting along the back bottom of the case, then slowly lifting the cardboard backing up until you can pull the removable plastic housing out of the back of the packaging. Carefully untwist the wire holding his bow in the casing and then pull the wire through the holes enough to free the arrow and bow. Then the back of the removable plastic packaging the figure stands in can be folded down (pops off the snapping points) and the Link stand base slides out the back of the holder. It takes patience and care to unpack the lovely figurine and the amount of disassembly required just demonstrates how brand new the figurine is. Love the action implicit in the Link figure and if Yachew can ever offer the Zelda Amiibo from SuperSmash Brothers at a reasonable price compared to whats being asked in general, theyll have me as a customer again!

Got this to unlock Epona because a review said it would. Cool amiibo but does NOT unlock Epona. If that’s what you’re looking for, do NOT get this amiibo
