Liquitex Professional Gesso Surface Prep Medium, 3.78L (128-oz), Clear

I use it to turn good quality paper into like canvas that I can then paint nice art without having to use canvas. It gives awesome grit to take the pigment and it makes it more economical to paint with watercolor, acrylics or oils on good paper. It prevents the media paint from soaking into the paper and gives the surface grit to keep the pigment on top of the paper where it belongs just like on canvas. I highly recommend people using this on their good drawing paper to use paint media on it.

Beautiful dark grey gesso that primes my canvases perfectly and gives a unique base tone to work from. While the size of the bottle is relatively small, I know this is a niche shade that I will happily use occasionally, and being made by liquitex reflects the price of name brand art supplies. Giving the product four stars as it performs excellently, but I’m sure there are similar products for a cheaper price point out there.

Good for backgrounds, under painting, mixed media. Will accept alcohol inks also. Smooth surface or rough it up with palette knife. Have fun!

I really do love this product. Dries clear with a shine no fog and easy to apply.

Amazingly cool product. You can draw on your surface and then Gesso over it. The lines stay! I highly recommend this product.
