I have the monitor connected to my laptop with a wireless keyboard and mouse so the touch pad on my laptop is not needed. I was skeptical about the angle and positioning. But as you can see, it holds well! You will need some force to position the holder, do t be scared to put your back into it. This is a great buy!

Just means you can be confident you can rest your wrists on the laptop and not worry about the tilting flattening out.
