> 3 dayI love the amiibos for SSB and how they work in the game. Its like building your own little fighting partner that you can pat on the head in real life. The Villager is no exception. I named him Randy.

> 3 dayI used this amiibo with Hyrule Worriers to get the spinner weapon... It is amazing!!! I love the spinner it is so much fun and so powerful. You can cut right through your enemies in no time. The little figure is cool too and has lots of great detail, it looks cool just sitting around too. Its like an awesome action figure with a purpose! Anyway, Ive only used it to get the spinner so far, but it is totally worth it!

> 3 dayit leans slightly to the side. had hoped it would be covered in some sort of clear polish/shell, but it seems to just be raw sparkly paint (I worry itll scrap off, but havent tried). but other than that, its a cool looking little thing. I had a horrible experience using it though. put in SmashBros for the first time, started it up, put the amiibo on the gamepad sensor - and a message popped up telling me i needed to set it up first. i looked all over the menu system but couldnt find a place to set it up. i looked through the amiibo packaging and the game manual, but still found no hint at how to set it up. had to go online to discover that back in the WiiU system settings, a software update has buried screen for amiibo setup. Which mostly involves giving it a nick name. sigh. so having set it up, i restarted the game, and put the amiibo on - and was told I need to set it up. rage. Again, no guidance as to what to do. I didnt think to look through all the menus in game, becuase Id already done that. But going back to the internet, i found a video which eventually showed that after you set up amiibo in the system settings, the game introduces a new amiibo menu (buried on some second screen). So, having finally set up the #&^@@ing thing, playing a match with it was underwhelming. wtf? just a horrible user experience. admittedly, I had this idea Amiibos might turn out to be virtual friends on the couch who could leverage the local multiplayer concept that Nintendo is so known for. So you have Samus controlling a split screen, and trashtalking you. Play games with you toys. Thatd be rad. But now that Ive used an Amiibo, it seems pretty clear its just a smashBros gimmick (which would have been better as part of the on-disk software). bleh. So its a horrible let down, but giving that 2nd star because I see that a lot of work went into all this. And they could always wake up and use these toys in more interesting ways in the future.
